Ta'if
Taif (الطائف) is a city in Makkah Province, Saudi Arabia. The town of Ritaif is located at an elevation of 1700 m (5600 ft) above sea level. The population was 9,87,914 at the 2010 census. Taif, rich in the Sarawat Mountains, is a major tourist and agricultural destination in Saudi Arabia.

The rulers of Saudi Arabia are shifting operations from Riyadh to Taif to avoid the summer heat. The main crops are honey and grapes. Taif was a place of worship for the goddess Lata before the time of the Prophet. It is a two hour drive from Jeddah.
Taif Pass, located at an elevation of 5600 ft above sea level, is a scenic winter resort located on the Hijaz Hills in the Sarawat Mountains. Even the trekking route to Taif is beautiful. Both sides of the pass are adorned with colorful rocks. The view from the top of the pass is breathtaking.
The resort cities of Al Hada and Al Safa, with an altitude of 2000 to 3500 m, also enhance the beauty of Ta'if. Taif was also the administrative capital of the Saudi dynasty during the heat of the day.
Taif is also known as the city of palm water, blessed with vineyards, urn gardens, a variety of vegetable gardens and fig trees.
With over 300 million beautiful Damascus rose blooms, more than 9,000 rose gardens will flourish in this garden town. Rudraf Park, which is colorful with a gardens and fountains, as well as Syed Saad National Park and Nukhbatul Hamra Park are some of the attractions that attract tourists.
Castles, valleys, amusement parks, zoos and beautifully preserved ruins of ancient history add to the charm of this great city. The city has the largest mental health center in Saudi Arabia.
It also has the longest poleless cable car facility in the world. So Taif is so beautiful for whatever reason.
They also said, "Why was this Qur'an not revealed to any great man from these two cities (Makkah, Ta'if)?" (Qur'an, 43-31) The Holy Qur'an gives a description of the people of Makkah and Ta'if. Although they were more deserving of prophethood than any other Arab community, Allah has told humanity through the Qur'an that they are concerned about what the rich and the rich will not get.
Ta'if was the land of their uncles, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He went to Ta'if in 619 AH, when he was severely persecuted by the Quraish when he received his prophethood.
There, in the face of even more brutal persecution, a young Christian by the name of Addas gave grapes to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and drank it saying Bismillahi.
The area is now home to the historic Addas Mosque in Taif.
The people of Ta'if, who initially rejected the Prophet, later completely converted to Islam in A.D. 631. The siege of Ta'if and the war were the cause of it all.
