One thing that is constantly being overlooked is the fact that the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro has Bluetooth 5.3, same as the new AirPods. The new version is likely to impact the experience people have. We need to see comparisons of sound quality on 13/12 etc, as not everyone is upgrading their iPhones year on year.

I didn't want the original air pods because I thought they looked kind of goofy, but the shorter stem made me buy them. I lost one pair so I bought another set, then found my originals. I like the sound of them okay, and I keep one set paired with my phone and one set paired with my Windows PC. I was using them when I made a video recently on my 3-2-1 backup system for a photography group, and I was really impressed with how the vocal sounded. I did use them on a plane last year and I was surprised how much noise canceling -- OF THE PLANE NOISE!! -- they achieved. One downside of noise canceling is if I'm going self-checkout, I have to pay a little closer attention because I'm not hearing the beeps when the scan happens, I have to watch the screen as well.
I bought the new new AirPods Pro, they have a great sound quality, but compared to my Sonys XM4 earbuds, they are still in the top of the list for quality sound, bass and noise cancelling.

Adaptive transparency sounds really useful for traveling in the city. I myself would use it on a bike path while walking. Hopefully I could listen to music, and hear people on bikes who announce, "On your left." I just wish they would slow down a little so I can respond to the fair warnings ;)
I am absolutely shocked by how much I love the second generation of AirPods Pro. I was unable to wear the first generation because they hurt my ears. I know Apple said that they did not do much redesigning of these AirPods but something is different because I can wear these for hours at a time with no problem. I’m even using the same size tips as I tried on the first generation. I’m still shocked and amazed that I can wear these but so happy because the sound quality I believe is much richer and clearer than the first generation I also love the new Find My features and the improved transparency mode. Love this product so much!
Apple EarPods, and AirPods have never stayed in my ears without a third party device (earhook). This is why I moved to the Ultimate Ears Fit. If I did not own these I might now purchase the Ultimate Ears Drops for even better fit.
You didn't mention how painful it is to take a pic of each air when setting up the SA. I had to do one ear over and over. LOL. And yes, I will be upgrading.

Definitely getting a pair now for that H2 Chip. Also for the improved sound quality. I never take my case when running or biking for that very reason of dropping the case. 😅
