  • This is my next installment in the John Deere vault. The images turned out great. The record is a little rough, leaving a warble in the audio. My learning experience in the world of JD is top notch, so far. I really like the 540/1000 RPM PTO option & the little 1010 is all hood. Looks neat. I'm off to cook up another filmstrip video. Hope to get it done tonight.
    Enjoy & regards!!

Something I noticed that was interesting was it looks like they used the same illustrator to draw these drawings as the JD children's books of back in the day.

I haven't seen any of the old children's books. Something I'll keep an eye out for in the future.

I've operated a couple 3000's in the past & my uncle got one a few years ago. Great tractors! I'd like a 1010, but I hear they are a lemon & that's from the Deere guys. Guess if I ran across one cheap enough in decent shape, it might be worth the consideration. Regards!

@@pinesedgefarm1155 I'm not sure how rare they are. I did see a couple listed on Tractorhouse. JD kept close track of the production figures in terms of gas, diesel, etc, so I would imagine the numbers are out there, just not sure where to look.

Good luck with it! At least in this day & age, we know what went wrong with the 1010 initially & can remedy those issues to the best of our abilities. Enjoy your tractor!
