This airport is going through phase 1 of 3 major expansion and full renovation which will include a two level terminal equipped with planned 15 - 20 loading bridges. The current two terminals will be consolidated which will include a ton of shops and restaurants. It is long overdue for the Island of Hawaii.

And the reason why the pilot banks the plane to the right is because that is the only departure plan for runway 17 you can’t to left (unless if it’s a helicopter)
