I personally like the 2nd generation, because the back of the first generation is somehow unnatural, it would be reasonable to place a place for the license plate on the trunk lid
“In recent years most Mercurys were simply badge engineered Fords, but with this 2006 Milan, Mercury is attempting to re-establish a separate upscale identity.” In what universe is the Milan not just another badge engineered higher end Ford?? That’s what they all were, hence why the brand is dead lol
Nice car, but the problem was that the Honda Accord of the same vintage was better value! 240 hp vs 221 hp on the V6 - the Honda was much quicker too - 6.4 seconds 0-60.
Some of the best sedans Ford ever made. They were well designed and turned out to be really reliable.
The Milan still looks good after all these years. Wish Mercury was still around.
Very nice the Mercury Milan
Agree 100%. Veru underrated Ford brand.
Why? Aside the badges, it’s literally 100% identical to a Ford

A true Chrysler Sebring competitor. Battle of the rental lots 😂
next--the auction lot, then the buy here pay here lot
This car is wayyy superior to a Sebring. Much better built and engineered. And these actually lasted.
Imagine finding one of the few examples of this car with the 5 speed manual.
I once saw a manual Mazda Tribute and was shocked.
I remember test driving this in around 2008 with my dealership. It looked nice back then so I wanted my boyfriend and I to test drive it. It was nice.
Another badge engineed ford but a nice looking ride
The manual transmission version of this car was great.
Very nice and beautiful this car
replaced so many of those mazda 2.3s over the years, almost always with used engines on a buy here pay here lot warranty
This looks exactly like my 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. The only difference is the taillights and the grill.
It’s a ford fusion with a mercury grille and headlights
Holy moly 29mpg??? I can’t even get mine above 18
And I felt bad about my 23
Best I get is 24

Cool 😀
That is the best sedan

Some people don't want to be in a Honda interior all the time though. Value isn't what some people look for
1:18 pushed to the corners is a reach
As is "doesn't look like its mechanical kin" at 1:06.
🎉😢
And it still looked like a Fusion with a Mercury grill. This era of Ford was very bland and very Volvo influenced.
Yea these cars are straight up a Volvo S80 was a worse engine
