This is the definition of party over country, and it’s done more damage to this country than we will not know until 5 years after she passes. Shame on her, her staff, and the media for this gigantic cover up
About 30% of the people who reach 90 do so with no cognitive decline as measured on basic tests. Feinstein's daughter, an attorney in a law firm and former judge, needs to step in, and compassionately explain to her mother that she needs to retire immediately. It's a family member's duty more than her aides. Grief over her husband's death would just make her mental deterioration worse. Reagan went on serving for several months while he had definite signs of Alzheimer's.
Whether or not she's able to drive a car or ride a bike is a family decision. This is a decision that should've been a no-brainer to the Higher-ups in the DNC and those supporting her campaigns and they should have made it. Our party is not reliant on a single person and they should be switched when they're not able to do their duties. 10's of millions of people shouldn't have to bank on the person's family members forcing her out, it's the parties responsibly to take the necessary steps to have representatives that are able to do their job. This feels like elder abuse at this point since she could be at the beach or a 55+ retirement community instead of working in government.
My mom just turned 89 and she's pretty sharp, BUT she does ask me the same questions several times a day. Example: I was taking a trip and my mom asked how I was going to get from the airport to the hotel (answer: Uber). She asked me that question several times that day, same answer, every time. But I consider mom still competent to manage her affairs because she writes down things that she knows will be important and consults her notebook. My mom's management of her daily life is about all she can manage and that's fine for 89. No way could she handle all of the responsibility of Senator Feinstein. And neither can Senator Feinstein. Is the answer age limits? I think so. We have a floor in the Constitution (25 for the House, 30 for the Senate, 35 for the presidency), so why not a ceiling? In the Founding Fathers time, most people dropped dead in their sixties or seventies--they didn't foresee people living on into their eighties and nineties and not voluntarily relinquishing power. I advocated for age limits when Reagan was first elected--you can't run again if you're over 70, which would've denied Reagan a second term and Biden a first.
For everyone trashing her, please keep in mind that people in her condition do not do things intentionally harmful - unless that's their underlying personality. They have difficulty remembering their own family members, let alone people they've only known for a few years or months. I've had several `family members succumb to this. The mean ones got meaner, the kind ones stayed kind. The lazy ones quit & died sooner than they should have regardless how hard we worked with them to keep them going. The ones with an inborn work ethic kept working & living to the best ability they could given the limits set by the disease. Please don't judge anyone suffereing from dementia by "normal" social standards.

At the time people were outraged at her. But I think she was losing her marbles then. And then there is the Kavanaugh hearings. @@courthogan3140 Well, there wasn't much that could've been done back in his grandpa's day. Amyloid proteins only became common knowledge in the late 00-Agents' Decade and early '010s, and neurologists aren't sure whether it's even a good lead yet.
@@courthogan3140 It's not about being "funny."

If the old geezer is legitimately threatening people's lives due to their incompetence while driving, why Would you let them continue driving?
Is their personal sense of pride and independence worth people dying? How far into Grandpa's senility do I have to entertain an old man's pride? How many injuries and innocent bystanders lives impacted does it take before I'm allowed to be A Fucking Adult and take the keys from Grandpa?
We *desperately* need term-limits and age-limits for the house and senate.
And SCOTUS. Life time appointments for crooked Justices?????? Hell no.
Vows of poverty and chastity would do more good.
I disagree. She just needs to be removed using the rule that already exists for representatives that lose their ability to serve, regardless of age. I don't want to get rid of Bernie Sanders just because he's old when he's the best senator there is. That's agist and unconstitutional btw.

@@ELTEAESS Sarcasm.
I plain forgot.
As a California, I’ve known for at least 6 years she’s been in mental decline. It is a scar that will tarnish her career and the careers of her staff.
This makes Democrats look so bad!
Nancy ran the show for ron for awhile.
There MUST be an Age Limit for public service!
Yup make it the age of full social security benefits
I was present when my dad took Grandma's keys away. Later I took his. This story pisses me off to no end on two levels. First, as a citizen, I want to know why unelected people are acting as senator and just who they are. Second, who's in charge of her from a legal perspective? Who's taking advantage of her and why. I've seen what can happen when vulnerable seniors are targeted by "friends".
Man. This is just cruel. People need to stop wheeling around the corpse in a wheelchair. How cruel
When Kyle said she should be "on a beach, sipping a Mojito" I was like... "I've seen stuff like her, washed up on the beach before."
Dianne Feinstein was born the same year Herbert Hoover left office
Imagine a job so great that you want to work it until you're 100 years old. If she died right now her only regret would be that she couldn't serve another 4 years. Must be nice.
She can run as much as she wants. If the people disagree, they vote for someone else. Simple as.
It sure is great to work a job where you don't get fired when you don't show up. xD
@@ELTEAESS you really don't understand how politics in America works. Confusing Tim Scott for Raphael Warnock is just awesome lmao

My mother passed away on the 9th of March. She was six days short of her 83rd birthday. She had been taken Ill last year and had spent most of the time in hospital, bed bound. She still looked in better condition than this lady. After the undertakers had tidied her up, in repose n her coffin, lying there stone cold, she still looked better.
Sorry for your loss
Interesting that Kyle doesn't mention the people who agree with him, specifically Ro and AOC. Ro especially put himself in jeopardy by speaking out about Feinstein and I respect that.
Never forget Obama endorsed Feinstein in 2018 when she had a younger progressive primary challenger. Obama deserves blame for this.
Thanks Obama.
The DNC should have acted but ultimately her family had the responsibility of arranging her retirement.
The list is long and distinguish on both side of the isle.
Thanks Obamna
The people votes her in. Much like Bernie and that SC guy ..forgot his name. I was passed ar him but the people voted the way he said and ignored the better candidate. So, I should be more annoyed with the voters
I don't know what is more shocking, that her health is that bad or that she probably is still more coherent than the majority of Republican lawmakers.
Republican law makers are very smart. Kennedy from Louisiana plays a dumb role on TV.

Jane Mayer of _The New Yorker_ reported on Feinstein's senility *3* years ago.
Well, John Stewart did say the U.S. Senate is like an assisted living facility.
I think just as important is that she would vote one way on a bill and then her staff would correct her and make her vote the other way
Sure, it makes sense why they're doing that with her
but are there any other politicians - Democrat or Republican - where the same type of thing is happening? Where the actual democratically-elected politicians aren't voting to represent their district, but rather how their staffers are telling them to?
Probably donors rather than staffers but yes. Wouldn't be surprised for a second.

Welcome back and congratulations!
This story just proves that we need cognitive tests for anyone over age 70. If you’re unable to remember memos, staff meeting details, or your colleagues, you probably need to step down. This feels like elder abuse at this point since she could be at the beach or a 55+ retirement community instead of working in government.
This is absolutely no surprise to me. This country is an anvil propped up by toothpicks.
LMAOOOO
Praying 4 her
Her staff is protecting her because she's their gravy train.
No cos they are party tools, doing the bidding of the establishment
Katie Porter is going to run for her Senate spot next year, and I have no doubt that she will win easily. She's got my vote!!!
It’s crazy that someone of advanced age and declining faculties have more guardrails to be a bus driver than to hold power in US government.
Tempura, Kyle. It's Japanese.
For everyone trashing her, please keep in mind that people in her condition do not do things intentionally harmful - unless that's their underlying personality. Dealing with the situation requires understanding the person and the disease. At the point of her condition, they're operating based on their personality, ingrained habits and memories of their daily routine.

We need to mandate cognitive and neuropsychological assessments for elected representatives, at least after age 65.
I was so hoping that this said that she had been removed from office. She needs to be.

This is a "bombshell" every 3 years when it becomes a topic. We've known this forever

She can't even represent herself, let alone her constituents. Feels like she's being used as a human puppet by her staffers. If I was her family, I'd be super pissed that the staff (& possibly others) stole so much time from us that can't be given back.
Wow. I am dumbfounded at this revelation. I had literally no idea. I am completely bamboozled by this earth shattering revelation. Who could have seen this coming? This is the most shocking news ever released.
Last night, as I was in bed waiting to fall asleep, I was thinking precisely about Feinstein, and imagined having a conversation about it using very similar arguments to the ones you just presented. Heck, I'm 56 now and I wish I could retire with a full pension right now, which isn't all that much anyway. These people are just too adicted to power.
I live somewhere where most people born in circa '967 (56 y.o. by the end of '023) look more like what 40-somethings ("quadragenarians") looked like prior to the New Millennium. I often let the idea go to my head that, by the time I turn 56 y.o. just ahead of New Year's Day '047, I won't necessarily feel like a winter vulture yet. Whichever profession I have by then, I'll leave the question open about whether age will cut into my performance and/or work quality until the time comes.
Yes this goes back years here in CA. She would send out a flyer to have a so-called Town Hall with voters, and one of her staffers would come.. no explanation why she was consistently a NO SHOW.

Elderly people that are losing their marbles cannot judge for themselves that they are past their expiration date. They need family and friends to stand up to them and encourage them to stop doing things like driving. My mom was mentally with it until she passed. But I was always watching for signs that she might be confused or unable to drive. Someone whose mind is slipping cannot be counted on to know their limits. This isn't only an insult to me as a Californian, it is an insult to Dianne Feinstein. They've allowed her to make an ass out of herself for no other reason than they wanted to co-opt her power.
This has been going since she ran for office the last time at the very least. Back in 2017 when she was running she yelled at kids that were concerned about climate change. At the time people were outraged at her. But I think she was losing her marbles then. And then there is the Kavanaugh hearings. They were hearings her office instigated due to a constituent contacting her office about Kavanaugh sexually assaulting her in high school. Dianne hugged Lindsey Graham even after his shameful behavior, congratulating him on his civility. Here he had trashed the constituent that she was aiding and she hugs him like a brother. I thought that was batsh!t crazy.
Basically, she needs to go, and her aides should be blacklisted from ever working for public officials ever again.
The voters deserve what they vote for and yes Kyle there’s a system to get her out it’s called an election
I just finished the OG Dead Island yesterday and Diane's resemblance of the zombies is eerie.
