The shroud is a hoax. The image on the shroud is of an extremely narrow face, but one that is projected onto the shroud rather than wrapped in the shroud. For it to be real rather than fake, it would have been wrapped which would have resulted in the image of the face being significantly wider than that of a picture of a face. It is not because it is fake.
