Gem, did you know that one single person created this game? He made EVERYTHING himself - the music, animations, coding, etc. It really is amazing when you think about it. Also, if you accidently sell something to the shops, you can buy it back from them. Just scroll to the very bottom of their list of items for sale.
@@ErenYeager-sb4bm Music is also the only thing that would be hard so that makes sense. Creating everything else would take a lot of time but it wouldn't really be difficult. Still impressive, but I wouldn't say amazing. What's amazing is how popular it got. Lots of other solo devs that makes games that are at least, if not more, complicated to make that never get anywhere close to the recognition this game has gotten.
@@daniel4647 this game has huge personality, really they got lucky and the funding allowed them to make the game what it is now. The same thing could happen to any indie game dev, but at least this one used the money they got to make the game even better
Cant wait to watch you play more of this. Stardew is one of my favorite games. Some tips, save gold for the Egg Festival to buy strawberry seeds for next spring and maybe for a havest this year. Great way to make profits. Befriending the kids would be a good idea if you like foraging. I find the mushroom cave tends to be better than the fruit overall for gold and comunity bundles. And the wiki is a great help for gifts, schedules, info on best times to plant and other little things.
@@SairinEarthsea Yep. You can get the mushrooms for the bundle much easier than the fruit. Between the two I find the fruit cave much better if you want to get those bundles done quickly.
I watched the vod while working out today and it was very hilarious to hear "I'm running out of energy" and "my energy is really low" while doing exercises. The situation was different, but I agreed wholeheartedly. I'm very happy to see a new game happening and I hope you'll continue to enjoy it!
Since you mentioned waiting to open Geodes on a food luck day - they aren't affected by luck. The seed of your save file determines the order in which items come from cracking open geodes, which means that using certain seed checker tools makes it possible to determine which geodes need to opened to get a specific item for the museum for example
that's not true, they're greatly affected by luck. Opening on a good luck day changed the probability of getting items such as gems, artefacts, etc. On a bad luck day, you are likely to get coal, stone, or clay.
@@kithralia7172 take a look at the mouseypounds predictor and put any save file in there, and you will see that all geode items are predetermined, including artifact troves and golden coconuts. what you're saying really isn't correct

I know mods are usually a no go for first time players. But I always recommend the UI Mod to at least help with some of the overwhelming feeling. It just has some helpful info on the Screen when hovering over things.

I love playing Stardew while I listen to this; you have such a relaxing way of playing games. Also, I'm not sure if you'll see this Gem, but I think you'd really enjoy Sun Haven as well. It's kind of a fantasy-esque Stardew with a storyline.
"the winters have been bad, they're warm" haha I'm in Newfoundland too. I'm a single mom and this is the first winter the kids can really help themselves up and down the snow hills and we've only been able to go out sledding once! Haha oh how it goes
This Stardew stream was such a nice surprise Saturday. It got me to pick up my Switch and start a new farm. Not having much luck foraging so far, but it's such a fun game. Hoping for more cozy Stardew streams in the future.

Thats almost 10 times longer than I've played. 🤣 Total 280 hrs out of which I spent 200 hrs in my main world. How do you stay motivated to play for so long? I kind of lose interest once I achieve perfection.
@@chaithanyakm7527 Started many maps over the years with different goals. I am trying to marry each available villager in different maps. I like to try different farms for the decorative aspect. Have a few maps that are multiplayer. Multiplayer is the most fun for me.
@@lyvaellaevans I've always avoided playing on maps other than standard because I feel I won't have enough space. Maybe I can make it a challenge. Also I play on mobile so no multiplayer. 😢 Ooh maybe I can also decorate the town a little bit. So many new ideas coming up suddenly. Thanks for the reply and have a great day! 😊👍 P.S. I've watched you in minecraft season 8, and I'm excited to watch you play this game. a community has created MODS so even a totally blind player like myself can enjoy games like mineCraft and Stardew Valley
if you have this on steam you can play it using the switch controller, pro or joy-cons. connect the controller via Bluetooth like you would any other Bluetooth device. In the top left conner click "Steam, Settings, Controller, General Controller Settings, Switch Configuration Support." If you are using the joy-cons you will also need to enable "Combine Pair of Joy-con". Also if you want to use the Nintendo button layout (the swapped "A" and "B" buttons) click "Use Nintendo Button Layout" though I think this will effect any other controller you have connected to the pc. Also great stream, looking forward to more in the future.

I'm so glad you're giving this a try. Pixlriffs first introduced me to it and it's very cute. Ony annoyance for me is that I just cannot get the hang of the fishing mechanic. Hoping for some hints...
if you fish a lot and keep leveling up the bar will get bigger and bigger and fishing gets way easier. also buy the rod upgrades, they make the bar bigger too. :) fishing is super hard at first but it gets better over time. i recommend fishing in the big pond at your farm when you're first starting out too, the fish are easiest to catch there (but you'll also get lots of trash so beware haha)
Yay! I've always imagined Gem playing this game as it fits her so well! I get what you mean about adjusting to the controls of a different platform. I played stardew valley on laptop throughout 2020-21 and then got it on my switch and the change in controls took me a while lol
I'll tell you this. When it comes to getting perfection, completing the community center, catch all the fish whatever ur aiming for, the stardew wiki is insanely detailed and helps a lot, it even helps with finding loved and liked gifts. and for some of your next playthroughs if u ever decide to play more. 1 day forage all of map especially down with the wizards tower. go sell if you have quite a bit of foregable and splash all ur coins on potatos. next is ez, fish till day 5 then jump into the cave and try to get 45 copper. rest is up to u and you'll have a blast after.(Just remember to not overbuy crops without sprinklers a little later in the game, it gets really awful) forgot to say, after your first batch of potatos are done, buystrawberry seeds at the egg hunt festival. and also forgot to tell u on day 3 u go down to willys shop and want to buy the fiberglass rod. this is veeeeeery messy writing but i hope u can pull something helpful out of it :D
In answer to why people romance Shane: I went for him because I'm stubborn and contrary, and the more he told me to go away the more I said, 'Not a chance!' Everybody else is so friendly to start, but I just had a stubborn desire to get through to this guy who kept telling me to go away.
i'm super excited to watch you play this, also lolol it made me laugh when you wanted to marry robin bc it brought back memories from my first playthrough of this game. i wanted to marry robin too, i even started talking to her and giving gifts to her everyday just to realize later on that it wasn't possible. i was so mad HAHA

The mushroom cave requires daily activity which i usually forget to check
Imo fruit cave makes better gift early on
The oranges and apples from fruit cave make it a good choice for trying to complete multiple bundles without spending a lot of money on fruit trees.

I found that opening that beach bridge early gives you access to the coral and urchins you get from that area, which are Great for early game income.
