We bought the wife’s Suburban new in 2018, and it’s been a fantastic truck. V8 is strong and this thing hauls our 4 kids and all their gear EVERYWHERE. It’s lifted on 34’s and looks sexy. Best family vehicle on the road. Don’t go Tahoe. You’ll regret not getting the extra trunk space.
I think I commented to look at a Tahoe on a previous video, though I suggested the 2025 Tahoe not the 2024 since for 2025 model year you can get the 3.0 turbo diesel with the off-road Z71 package where you can’t do that on the 2024 model, also the interior and exterior of the 2025s got refreshed and get more tech. The 2025s should be hitting lots soon oh also the 2025s get the improved 3.0 turbo diesel with some more power and addressed a few common possible issue points where the 2024s still get the pre improved engine if I remember correctly

I have had Suburbans since 1986. My early ones were 3/4 ton big blocks. I have a 5.3 with 6 speed that has become my garage queen mainly because my AT4 with 6.2l and 10 speed is more fun to drive. Maybe a 2025 Suburban or a HD AT4X gasser is next.
Having your wife’s point of view makes these reviews lively. A man’s point of view is always going to be different than a woman’s. It’s good to get a female’s perspective because they look for different things from their vehicles then males.
If you are okay with a bigger vehicle, I think a 2025 Tahoe with the Z71 Off-Road Pkg is the way to go, def get the 6.2L V8, being one of the first (if not the first) on UA-cam might not be a bad idea, you two seemed to really like this vehicle, look at the 2025 Expedition Timberline and 2025 QX80 Luxe too
I don't know what GM was thinking with that shifter set up but it definitely looks like a big no go to me. The 5.3L would probably be fine for this vehicle. I don't think the diesel would be necessary in that vehicle unless you got the Z71 to go overlanding. I also don't care for full size vehicles. They're all way too big for my taste.
@@HarmonsHarbor I am a mechanic, I will tell you right now the new vehicles being built are not built to last. They will never last 16-20 yrs. I also buy wrecked cars so every car I buy I make money on even after driving it for 20k.
@@luckyreed1152 My 2001 Accord lasted 17 years and 290,000 miles before it rusted out. My 2007 Tahoe was bought in 2017 with 115,000 miles and it currently has 190,000. No issues with either. Just rust because of where I live. The “worth half of much” is what I was commenting about. You can definitely get 16 years out of a car, it just depends on which car you buy. If someone buys a Hyundai or Stellantis product, good luck.
Grand wagoner is better Chevy going to be check engines and lifter collapsing even in the 2025. dfm great technology right and your range obd doesn’t fix the root of the issue. Navigator black label also rides well. Turbos are reliable as long as the oil is well maintained. 180-200k easily without major issue. While the cylinder deactivation going from 8 to 4 to 2 to 8 will mess up your engine. Mopar or no car

I think the 25 Tahoe Z71 diesel will be the best overall room, off-road capability for a full size, and fuel economy

I would get the Tahoe a full size suv always has plenty of room for the family.

A small.no of 6.2s have main bearing problems, but I am sure that will be fixed by MY26...
