    Just got the 1.2 T (not new 2016) everything he's mentioned is spot on. It's a bit fidgety over bumps and the sun visor is, well, silly. I also find the gear stick too high and too far over to the left.butbo am quite short. The brakes a very sensative too. Handling is good too. But it's a GORGOUSE car. The stereo is amazing and the 360 cameras a real bonus. Took me a while to get use to the electronic handbrake and keyless ignition. Real easy to get in and out off. I find the boot big enough but took the dividers out to save on fuel. I get 48mpg on moderate runs and am very pleased with that. Just wished they did an auto.

    Isn't it strange, I went for a test drive in all of these, and I went for the Qashqui in the end. Liked in interior more, the ride was much better and the over-all feel of the car made more sense to me. But great review, really enjoyed it and understood why you made your decisions. Thank you.

    Resident American here but I wanted to see what the differences were between the global-spec and the US-spec. I noticed there was a bit; the differences between them both was the US models are called the Rogue Sport, it has a few different buttons for the climate control, we couldn’t get a manual gearbox (which would’ve been my preferred choice), we only got one engine choice, being a 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol 4-cylinder which made the car pathetically slow and not very fuel efficient, and I think these are European requirements; a rear fog light and the ability to adjust the angle of the low-beam lights for the headlights, neither of which we got. It only ran between the 2017-22 model years as Nissan couldn’t push enough of these to consumers. They may have sold a lot more had they thrown in either of the turbo petrol or diesel engines. Nonetheless, it’s very interesting to see what the differences are between them both.

    Great review, but... Almost every single review you say that the a-pillar creates a blind spot. Well, every single car has an a-pillar and no car manufacturer yet made it transparent so obviously it will be blocking some of the view. It's almost like saying "the tyres eventually get worn because they are in contact with the road all the time". I know that some cars have bigger a-pillars than others but unless it's really, really bad, it doesn't seem to me as a valid criticism.

    • @Firemarioflower

    Aiai. you forgot to mention that 7speed automatic is supersluggish. When you wait at red light and then push 50% or 100% it takes 2-3 seconds to start acceleration. The only way to not get that is to hold brake and accelerator. Not acceptable.

    • @SimonStreuffViolinEducation
      @SimonStreuffViolinEducation 7 років тому +2

      I drove one of these in manual. Had some serious acceleration problems and inconsistencies too. Sometimes a gear kicks, sometimes there is no reaction coming from the motor at all. After two days I hated the car and thought it is actually pretty dangerous to handle. The electronics are bad I think. Maybe one can adjust, but it just didn't feel right in many situations.

    Great Diesel engine and gearbox combination and economical. However the ride and handling are poor on bumpy roads. It wallows and crashes over bumps and rolls like bean bag in the corners. Kids will definitely be getting sick in back. However on smooth surfaces it rides great.

    Love my Qashqai and have got over 70mpg on a couple of occasions but, what is the deal with the horn? When I'm screaming abuse at some wazzock who's just cut me up I don't want my ravings to be accompanied by a pathetic squeak. I want a horn that shouts "MOVE" not "excuse me please, thank you" in the manner of a 12 year old spotty oik meeting the school bully in a deserted forest at midnight. Apparently Nissan have received a number of complaints from owners convinced that the horn on their car was broken so, perhaps Nissan should think about replacing them before their customers are embarrassed into never buying another Qashqai.
