6:03 The ball joint in Core Gundam II can be fixed by replacing it with a spare ball joint from Core Gundam I. I have done it for Uraven & Nepteight zero problems with waist joints after.
@MechaGaikotsu if u don't like core 2 you could swap it out with core 1 just the parts that need stability. Kinda sucks that Core 2, which is supposed to be like a upgraded version of Core Gundam got this much lazy put into it. As a fan if this gundam and its other incarnations, this hurts Bandai sort of bastardized something that has been so simple 😢
i think the team and mecha designer for the 2nd build divers season was not involved and another team did the short metaverse with the 2nd build divers assets with little effort...
It's actually an easy fix. Based on my experience the issue on the waist is due to the polycaps included in the Core 2 gundam kits, which is a common problem also found in some other HGs still using polycaps (mold degradation maybe). Aside from gluing the waist joint, replacing the polycap ball joint with spares from other HGs (preferrably older ones) works 95% of the time. This issue on polycaps could very well be the reason why Bandai is starting to steer away from using them in newer HG kits
Juging from all the comments, I'm quite happy that I added clear nail polish on the ball joint in my Core Gundam 2's waist. Now the connection is secure and it doesn't feel janky anymore.
It's weird for me because all my Core Gundam variations are fine. The Uraven Gundam comes out really janky on the waist but easy to fix and other variants of my Core Gundam II don't have it nearly as bad. While the Plutine is a Plastic hand grenade even in just the Core Gundam Mode. Honestly I'm wondering what the Hell Bandai was thinking with this one other than a really cheap nostalgia grab for the Metaverse Anime. One that was probably there to get rid of random residual plastic using the Core Gundam Mold. Why it's not even a full Ecopla is beyond me.
My friend has gotten into Gundam recently and I was a little bit curious but didnt know where to start. I attended Megacon just a week ago and the Gundam base was there with Plutine Gundam on the shelf with many others. Bought it on a whim cause it stuck out to me and building it was alot of fun but I do agree. It is real finicky and sensitive when messing with it but it’ll hold a special place in my heart as it opened the door for me into gunpla building!
I personally haven’t had much issue with the core II, I don’t have the Plutine yet I hope to get my pre order in soon, but the only one I had real issues with was the Saturnix armor. The shoulder and forearm armor wouldn’t stay on, easy fixes but my Uraven was great no real issues beside the shield conversion the kit itself was solid, but I did find a different poly cap to replace the ones in the torso so that could add to it
I remember all the core gundams falling apart on me all the time. I had to glue all the armor bits on and on the waist ball joint on all of them to strengthen them and make them stronger so they dont fall into halves haha
I remember the Uraven Gundam being the kit that completely killed my desire to ever build another core gundam variation, and all the issues with loose parts all over that this kit has too are the exact reason why

I'm glad to feel seen by this. YES this thing is trash. I haven't built many gunpla, but this one had me about ready to throw it in the trash. I tried to do a bit of panel lining but got so sick of it that I cleaned up my panel lining mess, then threw it all back in a box (it's "assembled" but I'm not posing it). I may glue it together one day. I touch something wrong, it falls off, I hold it wrong while reassembling, something else falls off. Seriously, the waist falls off, the right hand falls off (at the connection from the extended black wrist to the purple), the pauldrons with the claws slip at the wrong angle. And geuinely don't get me started on the backpack. It falls off, the big angular piece on it will fall off as a result. The waist is atrocious and should just be glued outright imo, better than dealing with it, not like it has much range of motion anyways. Is the rest of this series supposed to be good? Because I just buy gunpla based off looks for the most part, but this one nearly has me deadset on swearing off anything affiliated with it. I also just didn't think the build was that fun. The transformation ability was not worth the cost, I wish it was permanently in the full form, with better connections. Not sure what people are saying about yours being extra bad. I can't figure out how the backpack could ever have a good connection, it's very awkward at best and never even appears secure.

I can’t tell you how many coats of paint I had to put on the ball joints in the waist of ALL of my Core II kits to stop that loose fitting problem. The only one I don’t recall having this issue with was the Titans color one. Honestly still hoping to purchase this kit, but may slap it on my titans one and leave the purple core gundam crying in the corner of the shelf
I don't think Mecha got a bad kit. My Plutine also got that loose waist. Same with the Core Gundam 2 from my Uraven and the G3 and Titans colors. The hole where the waist polycap joints must be too wide or there's no friction in them. After thickening the ball joints by a little bit, no more splitting waist
Got this kit for my birthday and just finished building the core unit So far I had a good time with Plutine but I'll admit the waist sections was very very weak so I used super glue on the ball joint and surrounding area below and he's chilling now 😊 I don't intend to mess around with it once finished so didn't mind using the glues 🫡
Yeah wen build divers rr was out i was so stoked about the idea of the core gundam like an enhanced strike gundam, and i was torn between jupitive (beams + full burnern) and uraven (transform + sniper). I ended up going for the uraven and fake nu packs, only to find out that 1. The shoulders are loose as heck 2. The ankle joints are so wobbly 3. The arn joints got loose within a week of building 4. The bits on the shoulders were so loose 5. The transformation was kinda mid This on top of the aegis knight running the same “too loose too fast” led me to dislike build divers rerise in terms of model kits, and i think the OG build fighters was peak (i have gm sniper k9 and i love it) Im also planning to get a HG Exia Dark Matter for a custom (enhanced paint + matt or gloss + seamline fix + waist fix), but does anyone know the best way for fixing the limited HG Exia waist and upper leg joint?
Hello, I come back here after build it and move it around, my plutine are mostly in place, the shield falls off from backpack is a normal problem from core II (but I remember that they fixed it in titan and G-3 color ver. so why are it here again 🤔), the waist might be the new problem in this kit because my plutine's waist are very loose too, other than that is probably random in all boxes but from what I see from your plutine, the legs' side blades aren't push in enough so when it got hit a little bit it come off easily (and I see you didn't even use any force to push it in in the video!), the shoulders, arms, wrist armors are loose because you didn't keep it tight while moving it around so it getting loose over time (all armors problem especially planet system II)
My Uraven kit felt loose in certain joints, including the arms falling off. Super glue around the joints helped it out, so I'm guessing it'll work with this kit.
I have mine ordered from hlj, but I'm waiting on the last batch of the year to drop before I ship them out, but I'll let you know how mine is. On a brighter note, I just saw a 3rd party variant of the nightingale is coming out. It's the mechanicore 1/100 firehawk
And then there's my core Gundam 1 which for some odd reason had the peg that connects the beam saber to the backpack too tight that it broke, now he's forever holding his blade nowhere to store it
I don't own any of the cores as I'm not particular to them, however I do have a friend who just got his plutine last week. He said he was really devastated at how the torso kept popping off and the shield unit just never stays on, tiniest flick or bump on a table is all it took. I would be lying if I said I wasn't laughing my ass the whole time but this kit got some issues.
All the variants of the Core II that I got were kinda loose because of the polycap joints. Actually an easy fix, I just replaced them with spare polycaps I got from my Core I and other HG gunpla I previously built. The issue is prolly just on the polycaps suffering from mold degradation or something similar
Looks like imma have to put some elbow grease on my kit. Attach some 0.01 plaban and sand them down some more for extra security on the pointy bits that attach to the side of the legs, give that waste a rubber coating so that it adheres more and tighten up those joints with some good ol' putty. Not a fan of the Purple tbh.
Could be irrelevant to that, the waist issues have to do with the polycaps. Since the mold is reused so often for high grades there’s bound to be fitting issues at some point with older mold casings. The fitting issues of some of the armor I don’t know could just be wear since it was used for the all the armors for the previous core Gundams. Honestly the ecopla could play into that but I just don’t know
@@MechaMeister6511 Yeah, just want to make sure. I know the waist part definitely has nothing to do with it, I just fear that the feels on the Armor or some of the part can easily fell off from the Armor has something to do with the Ecopla. Hope I was wrong though, as Ecopla is a good concept by itself.
While it's pretty cool that ecopla are recycled plastic to be environmentally friendly, I've heard a bit of bad review about it. Something about it being brittle, breaks easily and doesn't age well
just build the uraven and that kit was a nightmare after putting the armor on and that backpack kept falling off fingers crossed my plutine is not as bad edit: its worse than the uraven... the waist is hella loose, the back pack still loves to falloff. tho a work around for the waist is sticky tac it still is loose but it doesn't just pop off.
I bought a barbatauros and it was...similar. Not nearly this bad, but...yeah. Joints kept falling apart, and he never stood up right. I love him but yeah.
Man I was looking forward to this one for the colors but I can't stand kits with loose elements. Might end up waiting till I happen on with with extra money
i like that we`re getting a new core gundam based kit but both this and the shin burning gundams are really expensive for what you`re getting .... probably gonna skip all of the new divers kits except maybe the eg build strike
I took a look at the price of the Kameki burning, its less than half the price of the Shin Burning. I don’t know what Bandai is smoking but they need to stop
So apparently, the Entry Grade Exceed Galaxy was the best one among those 4 new Metaverse kit in term of improvement and the amount of flaw huh 🤔 i live in Malaysia, Build Strike Exceed Galaxy cost only half of those 3 other Metaverse kit and i feel like coming from the cost value factor,i would prefer the cheaper Exceed Galaxy more, Watergate numbmark on BSEG is hidden very well, unlike Shin Burning you have those obvious mark on the thigh and arm armour Perfect colour accuracy, especially for the vulcan on the head, big brain moment, seem line on the head has been hidden very well and it contributes into details. Although the lower body ball joint that connects the thighs is a little bit disappointing, but it still pulls off a lot of good pose and the whole kit is solid,it doesn't fall apart easily, while not sacrifices the articulation, especially on the waist and feet, they are phenomenal, not like the loosely waist we get from 00DiverArc or the Core gundam that doesn't support the weight of extra armour, while the waist on Shin Burning was just a disappointment 😂 exceed galaxy has by far the most valuable kit from those 4 in term of cost effective rate
I'm a big fan of the Re:Rise kits. So I'm really disappointed to see this. The Core 2 has always been weak at the waist (at least all the ones I have are) but it's literally just a case of being aware it's gonna come in half when I put the armor on/off. I've never really had any other issues with it, and certainly nothing like this! I'd have liked to have seen you try the Plutine armor on a Core 1 to see if that's any better. I don't like the purple either. It's way too bright and vibrant compared to the muted colour that it has on the box art/anime.
The core gundam is something I will always love and its function of changing modes through different armor is fun and awsome as hell.
I think it's something up with your version of the kit. The one I have is a little delicate, but yours is insane. I'm guessing the bent beam saber is a sign something may have happened from the factory. However, yeah it is a little looser than I'd like, but not that insane

-You also reviewed the sold separately Core Gundam G-3 colors and Titans colors, making this the 11th time
-If you count the 2 versions of Re:Rising Gundam where you had to use Core Gundams, this is the 13th time.
-If you count the Anima Rize Core Gundam, this is the 14th time
-If you count the Alus Core Gundam, this is the 15th time.
-If you count the clear Core Gundam armor parts in the Anima Rize box, this is the 16th time.
I Have it and it holdes 😊😊
we love grape gundam in this house
As much as I love the look of Core 2, it has always been flimsy for me. The less on the top half, the better.
I though that pieces falling on the core gundams different armors was "normal". Ive got them all and each set is untouchable out of the box.
Got this kit for my birthday and just finished building the core unit
So far I had a good time with Plutine but I'll admit the waist sections was very very weak so I used super glue on the ball joint and surrounding area below and he's chilling now 😊 I don't intend to mess around with it once finished so didn't mind using the glues 🫡
If they had design added a beam effect part to it. It would had been more awesome
I couldn't stop laughing throughout this when it kept falling apart! lmao! 🤣
That’s actually a pretty cool design, but the box looks wayyyyyy way better than the kit
If witch from mercury was the gift that kept on giving, build metaverse is the grinch that keeps ruining christmas
Always love your lighting! Would love to see a video on your set up!
Yeah wen build divers rr was out i was so stoked about the idea of the core gundam like an enhanced strike gundam, and i was torn between jupitive (beams + full burnern) and uraven (transform + sniper). I ended up going for the uraven and fake nu packs, only to find out that
1. The shoulders are loose as heck
2. The ankle joints are so wobbly
3. The arn joints got loose within a week of building
4. The bits on the shoulders were so loose
5. The transformation was kinda mid
This on top of the aegis knight running the same “too loose too fast” led me to dislike build divers rerise in terms of model kits, and i think the OG build fighters was peak (i have gm sniper k9 and i love it)
Im also planning to get a HG Exia Dark Matter for a custom (enhanced paint + matt or gloss + seamline fix + waist fix), but does anyone know the best way for fixing the limited HG Exia waist and upper leg joint?
Hi could you please tell me were you got your simple stands from. I have looked on the UK amazon and ebay and they seam very expensive.
I had just bought this kit.. not im kinda worried but I will update when I do get to building it.
Honestly should do more since we have so many more planets being discovered and new solar systems that a new core gundam will be a must.
Should see if it fits better on one of the older core gundams
My Uraven kit felt loose in certain joints, including the arms falling off. Super glue around the joints helped it out, so I'm guessing it'll work with this kit.
I have mine ordered from hlj, but I'm waiting on the last batch of the year to drop before I ship them out, but I'll let you know how mine is. On a brighter note, I just saw a 3rd party variant of the nightingale is coming out. It's the mechanicore 1/100 firehawk
I’ve never had a problem with any core gundam and I’ve built 6 or 7 of them, I hope when I get this one it’s not garbage
..... Plutine Gundam needs some 30MM joints. Also, Core Gundam Rise II when?! XD
Weirdly enough, my core 1 earthtree armor disintegrates from just the air. I think maybe mine is an anomaly.
And then there's my core Gundam 1 which for some odd reason had the peg that connects the beam saber to the backpack too tight that it broke, now he's forever holding his blade nowhere to store it
looks like it was a blessing that it all sold out here in Japan when I was about to buy it 😅
Think I'll buy it to continue the line of planet change.
This new Plutnine gundam has that Deathscythe feel to it
Let me Guess earthree like force impulse
Forbidden Gundam says he has been forgotten. 😅
@@kamenriderovant9676 underrated 🙂
Rg Sinanju: hey Plutine! Welcome to the Gang Hey Mg Victory and the rest of you welcome our new Member!
Glue in the waist ball fixes the whole problem also glue is the best way to fix pieces falling off all the time
All the variants of the Core II that I got were kinda loose because of the polycap joints. Actually an easy fix, I just replaced them with spare polycaps I got from my Core I and other HG gunpla I previously built. The issue is prolly just on the polycaps suffering from mold degradation or something similar
Well on the bright side it's not RG Sinanju hand grenade levels
9:50 if you want to see the ultimate irish rage.
Looks like imma have to put some elbow grease on my kit. Attach some 0.01 plaban and sand them down some more for extra security on the pointy bits that attach to the side of the legs, give that waste a rubber coating so that it adheres more and tighten up those joints with some good ol' putty.
Not a fan of the Purple tbh.
got this kit today.. they are some part are loose like the waist but not as much worsts than what you have experience.
Honestly, not hard to fix if you just tighten the kit that it becomes a non issue at that point.
Kinda curious, is it feels janky because it's using Eco-Pla, or it has nothing to do with it?
It seems all the jank areas are parts that aren't in that ecopla black, so I say it's pretty unlikely.
Honestly the ecopla could play into that but I just don’t know
@@ToxicAtom I see. Fair point.
Nah because Ecopla kits are very tight especially the SRW kits
And this is why Pluto is no longer part of the Solar System.
I love core gundam, so.... pain peko for this
While it's pretty cool that ecopla are recycled plastic to be environmentally friendly, I've heard a bit of bad review about it. Something about it being brittle, breaks easily and doesn't age well
If you like the Core Gundam, try out the Armored Puppet Number 57 series! ^_^
just build the uraven and that kit was a nightmare after putting the armor on and that backpack kept falling off fingers crossed my plutine is not as bad
edit: its worse than the uraven... the waist is hella loose, the back pack still loves to falloff. tho a work around for the waist is sticky tac it still is loose but it doesn't just pop off.
So apparently, the Entry Grade Exceed Galaxy was the best one among those 4 new Metaverse kit in term of improvement and the amount of flaw huh 🤔 i live in Malaysia, Build Strike Exceed Galaxy cost only half of those 3 other Metaverse kit and i feel like coming from the cost value factor,i would prefer the cheaper Exceed Galaxy more,
Watergate numbmark on BSEG
is hidden very well, unlike Shin Burning you have those obvious mark on the thigh and arm armour
Perfect colour accuracy, especially for the vulcan on the head, big brain moment, seem line on the head has been hidden very well and it contributes into details.
It's way too bright and vibrant compared to the muted colour that it has on the box art/anime.
its because they called it metaverse
just had to suck it was in the zuck cards
So far the only ones not so disappointing to me is Exceed Strike, Shin Burning, and F Kunoichi kai.
From what I’ve seen it seems there is an issue with the poly caps of core gundam 2 just use spare ones from core gundam 1 and you should be good
Couldn't care less about Hiroto Core Gundam variants. I want more of Alus armors!! Where's Reverse Turn X and Dubious Arche?!!
