- Oh yeah. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is getting a second season. Because Amazon didn't have the good sense to cut its losses. Fans are standing by to downvote the trailer, guaranteed.

Bad writing, bad acting, bad costumes, crappy 3d-printed armor that looked like plastic, and massive, glaring plot-holes.
Who could have imagined it would flop?!
The lore breaking is beyond repair. I'm sure you noticed that by getting rid of Celeborn, Galadriel's husband, ensures that Celebrian, Elrond's wife, is never born and Arwen and her siblings are never born. That throws off all of the events in the LOTR trilogy of books.
@@Hinatachan360 - To Amazon, You can Explain Elrond's Children by Him having a Wife Who is Not Related to Galadriel. No I am Not Defending This, just Saying its Likely How They'd Handle This.
A billion dollars. About 90% of that was marketing.
It was more important to show a strong Mary Sue character that gets to browbeat male characters and who don't need no man than to have a good entertaining story. They also had to make sure they threw in their DEI characters.
@@Hinatachan360 it's honestly worse than even that. It's not just about what they left out, it's that because of some really baffling creative choices they've put themselves on a ridiculously low timer
The founding of Sauron's near globe-spanning empire
The long war between Sauron and the Elves that sees the devastation of much of Eriador and the end of Elven power in middle earth
The first war between Sauron and Numenor
The rise of the Numenorean empire on Middle Earth
The fall of Numenor
The War of the Last Alliance
Because the muppets who wrote this decided to include an adult Isuldur, who literally HAS to be the guy who claims the ring from Sauron for the rest of the story to take place, they've given themselves about 200 years to cover all of that if they want to be even remotely true to the source material. In the books this is 1700 years of history that contrary to what the showrunners would probably claim, is actually dated by Tolkien himself
good luck with that is all i can say
No. Just no
We still have the books. Goodbye Hollywood.
And that one video game that isn't Gollum.
Book, “the Lord of the Rings” is one book. It was split into three parts for publisher marketing reasons. Frequently you can find it printed and bound as a single tome as Tolkien originally wanted. I’ve had mine for more than twenty years now.
Well soon they wish to eddit the old books to fit their narrative
Wish I can find our copy. I'm hoping it's still lost somewhere in our apartment and hasn't been accidentally thrown out. My father already tossed out the extended editions of the movies for higher quality Blu-ray theatrical versions (I don't care about how pretty it looks, the story's better in extended editions 😮💨), I don't want to lose the book either.
Still have our Hobbit book. My brother's been keeping that one safe at least.
@@joshjo9405 Thankfully there are several at least playable games based on Tolkien's Legendarium.
I'm sick of these elites smearing beloved creators while profitting off their work; Bob Iger with Walt Disney, Netflix with the Witcher, and, of course, this.
hm, at least they arent profiting off of it, but this was never about the money, it's about destroying a culture.
Let us call them not longer elites. They are parasites.
@@MerlosTheMad Yup. They preach how horrible these creators are, but have no problem taking their IP.
@@MerlosTheMadLegit 💯🤨👍
Eh, maybe not profitting.
I might mention HBO made “House of the Dragon” for a fraction of what Amazon made their abomination for and it looked far better.
It was a much better show too
house of dragon was better than rings of power but it also sucked.
Agree

First Velma season 2, then Ncuti Gatwa's Dr. Who, now Amazon's LOTR. Are we getting spoiled with garbage this year or what?
Let's not forget Zack Snyder's _Rabble Moon_ either. Truly we live in a golden age of utter trash!
"The Acolyte" 🤣🤣🤣
At least we have a few good things like smiling friends season 2.
Not to forget Wheel of Prime.
Once they broke the lore by killing off Galadriel's husband, Celeɓorn, therefore erasing their daughter, Celebrian, who was Elrond's wife and mother of his children, I was done with Rings of Power. I still don't think they realize they broke the lore of the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy of books. The writers have written themselves into a doomed corner.
They got rid of Celeborn and replaced him with Sauron flirting with Galadriel.
Ah yes, because girl bosses can not have healthy or happy marriages. Gotta always end up with the bad boy dark lord who likes to mess stuff up.
But no seriously its pathetic, we keep going and trying to copy Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones instead of being inspired and spurred on by them. And its not just the West the East has a similar issue. It barely desires to dig deep anymore at times thus you get a lot of the same old same old fantasy stories there. Frieren broke this by exploring elves' long lives in a beautiful and tragic way. They could have done something similar with their wannabe Lord of the Rings, drawing from old fairy stories and what not. But choose instead to create this weird pale imitation. Instead of taking what worked before and make it work again
@animejanai4657
So they might be going for a dark twist. What a shit show.
That might as well be Bad Fanfiction AU Territory Now which Explains why its cratering so much.
Does this mean they just killed off Arwen?
Please guys, don't ever put "Amazon" and "Lord of the Rings" in the same sentence.
"You keep the professor's name out you goddam mouth!" -- Will Smith
I'll stick with the Peter Jackson trilogy, thank you very much. Hell, I know people are even willing to take The Hobbit trilogy over this garbage any day.
Well, yeah. Sure, the Hobbit movies simply weren't much compared to the original trilogy, but it's still a masterpiece compared to this shambling heap of creative detritus
out of curiousity, will you watch the upcoming hunt for gollum?
@@monarchprime3611
Probably not. Not that I speak for OP
@@ericward8459 I hear ya. I'll check out the reactions and reviews of people who go watch the film first before deciding if it's worth the money to watch in the theaters.
I loved the trilogy, but didn't like the bloat of the hobbit ones.
The manner in which LotR fans decimated RoP online reminded me of when Aragorn told Frodo: "You bow to *no one* ." They really did mess with the wrong fans lol.
Absolutely. We LOTR enthusiasts do not suffer fools.
Too bad Amazon has nothing to lose
So true!
it's not just the Tolkien fans. Fans of basically every science fiction and fantasy IP know those genres basically don't exist without Tolkien. He turned the 'nerd shit' into 'literature'.
This is basically the one franchise the mythical 'modern audience' can't have. it means to much to too many people.
Seriously, "darker and edgier," in a press release in 2024? That was a cliche and warning flag in 2004, but I guess bad taste is forever.
“It’s ringin’ time!”
-Amazon’s Sauron
Time for Amazon to throw another billion dollars in the trash.
All that money and not a lick of sense between their ears. I guess that's why they call it failing upwards in Hollywood.
These people been REAL quiet this time around. So much for all that pride in representation.
I can't wait for the UA-cam reviews.
Season 2 will be like the survivors of the Titanic trying to Raise the Titanic while drifting in icy waters .
... They do let the AI write without even HIDING it anymore. That is pathetic...
Amazon will see higher user engagement on social media, but they will be confused as their second series will have even less viewership.
Amazon will soon realize "user engagement" is not the only numbers they should be paying attention to, negative feedback does not equate success!!
Amazon has been set up to fail by those running these failures, sadly Amazon pushes this propaganda so they have nobody to blame but themselves.
You knew it was gonna be bad when they fired the world's leading scholar of Tolkien's works. A loremaster. Why? My guess is he voiced concerns about all the lore they pissed on
They also never consukted Peter Jackson at all. I didnt much care for the Hobbit movies but LOTR trilogy is some of the best film ever made.
The tagline for it should be "There in the back again." 🤣
Let it DIE (Diversity, Inclusion, Fuckin Equity or some shit like that)
"We'll give you the meat raw"
put a "Flop-Clause" into any and all show contracts stating if the show fails to make bank within a specified number of episodes, they can pull the plug and walk away from the cumulative loss for a lesser tax right-off. Instead of continuing to hemorrhage millions for multiple seasons. Hollywood studios are the ones bankrolling it not the actors and actresses.
And the writers have to pay you back the money you gave them.
@@wesleythomas7125 Oh that would be quite the bonus.
I wish I had a billion dollars to throw away like that. I'd turn it into two billion dollars by producing something worthwhile.
More than that! You could produce multiple new films at a fraction of the cost and make bank. It worked for Toho with Godzilla -1.
Expect most people to only know of this when they are blamed for its failure.
Yep, like Velma season 2
If they wanna waste money and keep being trashed by everyone than so be it
We get Woke or we get nothing. They’re more than happy to go bankrupt to defend their religion. Hollywoke and streaming is a cult.
A new Gollum series, starring Mindy Kaling, with Zendaya as Elrond and a guest starring Kamala Harris as "The Ring".
yaas! eeyaaaas! 💅
Weeird! Weeird!
Bruh what did zendaya do to deserve that?
Lizzo as Gollum
You know Amazon, when someone says that's the dumbest idea for a show I've ever heard, it's not a challenge!
If they would hire writers who have a clue or two, and respect the work of Prof. Tolkien, they might stand a chance. But, that won’t happen. They can’t stop checking off the boxes, and hiring inept loony left activists.
How can they put so many lies in just the first paragraph of an article.
As Guyladriel emerged from the forest, her Adeptus Custodes Armor shined brightly under the sun. "Long Live the Emperor!" She shouted. In the far of distance, she can make out the silhouette of pinkish mushroom Orks on their rainbow pony tanks ever growing closer to the battle that has yet to unfold.
Man, I can’t wait to see Mandriel break the laws of physics with her girl power lmao 😜
Guyladriel Season 2: The Ring Of Patriarchy
It should be illegal to use confirmed failures as tax write offs.
It’s very telling that three of the main actors bailed after season one LOL
Amazon is the literal manifestation of Isengard.
I’m ready to ignore The Rings of PRIIIIME for another season. Wake me up when there’s some funny memes to look at. 🤦♀️
that article probably has better writing than the season
The one good to come out of this is watching Gandalf, Elrond and Boromir roast Rings of Power season 2.
Yes! I love those roasts!
Some things SHOULD remain forgotten and lost
Only looking forward to seeing my favorite youtubers rip it to shreds.
We ALL are.
I can't wait to see JLongbone rip this to shreds.
If it weren't for my deep love of Tolkien's Middle Earth, I would be laughing at Amazon's failure with their Rings of Browner
I saw Sauron and I clapped!
He Sauroned!
Did the clapping from your ass cheeks alert the orcs?
It should have ended with season 1, but evil was allowed to endure.
Somehow, the rings of power returned
🤡 "Today... is christmas!"
- Amazon on release-day for S2.
It should have ended when it was first proposed.
Well, if this ever gets out before the Warhammer show, then it'd be a good example as to why BRIDGE (DEI) kills companies.
DEI = Didn't Earn It
Amazon presents their abomination, “the Pronouns of Pewter” season 2.
Life's too short, and there are too many shows.
You can't save this show from the utter destruction wrought upon the basic aspects of the IP in season 1.
Just like Mindy Kaling Velma it’s not going to be successful and get another dumpster fire we still have the good Trilogy movies of lord’s of the rings and the hobbits so I can see rings of power s2 failing hard already 😂😂😂
It's destroying itself, don't watch it, just let it die.
I'd love to see a deep-fake of Cate Blanchett's Galadriel in The Rings Of Power.
Sunlight as disinfectant
IT'S HOBBIT TIME!
We Wuz Bagginz N' Shiet!
They lost probably litte over 500 millions on the last turd and hope to make that back plus to cover another billion dollar turd.
Amazon must be using LOTR to max out their tax write off
"SPRINGTIME FOR SAURONNN AND MOOORDOOORRR..."
They're going to make the show dirtier? They also ready had Elrond giving meat to Durin, and giving it to him raw.
Wasn't this slated for like five seasons ahead of time? It wouldn't surprise me if Amazon churns out all five of them, no matter how poor the reception is all throughout.
I won't be tuning in. I thought maybe the first season would be "so bad we can just roast it and laugh" bad, but it wasn't even really that. It was just bad.
I am so confused as to all of this weird shit... surely, they aren't making enough profit to warrant this stuff being made. It is totally out of this world that a company wouldn't be focused on profits. You don't make a profit without the customer, and if you've lost faith with the customer, you put all your cards on making up for whatever it is you've done.
Something that is literally only Tolkien's work in name alone? I wonder why LOTR fans don't like it...
The fascination is solely about finding out if it can, against all odds, be somehow worse than Season 1.
It has absolutely zero chance of being actually good of course.
"Cancel culture won't let Rings of Power die". What is this even supposed to mean? Literally written by software.
Also they cancelled "The Tick" but keep this crap going. Streaming is kill.
I still can't believe they had a Trump rally on Numenor complaining about elves stealing their jobs
Amazon losing another trillion speedrun
Hard pass. Even if they milk Gollum in every episode of season 2.
It'd end up like the recent "game" that came out. Just DEAD
Deer Season Duck Season Rabbit Season, who cares? But Ring season, well, now you're talkin'. Ring Season has everyone oiling up their favorite twelve gauge and getting ready.
@@AntiAntiSepticUK Shirley.
It amazes me how these hacks in the news media can write something like "The fans loved it" when only 37% of an audience finish a season and even the paid "fans" admit they didn't even watch it.
And a presumably big fraction of those who finished it were either completionists, hopeful fools or hatewatchers...
It really is a shame too. When Amazon got the rights and said they were doing a series in Middle Earth I was hopeful. The are a lot of stories Tolkien wrote that took place before The Hobbit and TLOTR. It was when they fired the Tolkien Expert that I know they were going to fail. And, they did.
It's going to be so dark you won't be able to see what's going on so you can't get mad.
Please Amazon, please stop. It's already dead.
I hope no one ever calls this Lord of the Rings.
Rings of Delusion.
Rings of Diversity.
Rings of Manure.
Rings of Stupidity.
Enter your version.
Time to cancel my Prime account.
Hook a generator up to tolkins grave!
My petsonal reaction: NOOOOOOO WHHHYY!
Anyone else notice that within the first paragraph one sentence started with “But” and the next one started with “And”? That’s such an obvious mistake… like a robot imitating a human…
i remember watching a video from thequartering, talking about how the episode auto restarted when it was on the middle, and that would count as watching it 2 times
The fact that they put "twists and turns" in stories that are already written is one of the biggest problems with the show, for Tolkien readers.
If only Sadako had been able to save us...
"And as we celebrated for a time that the rates of the rings of power were dwindling... drums, drums in the deep"
I recall Jeff what's his faces son asked specifically not to mess it up.😂
I wish this money and effort went in some of the shows they cancelled. I really liked the peripheral.
They straight up lied to everyone from the beginning and continue to lie. They said season 2 would be closer to the source material. It’s too late for that! They have to start over from scratch. What? Are the Harfoots gonna be gone? Will the elves have LONG HAIR? Like they’re supposed to. Look at any fantasy art! Elves all look the same- and it’s not how they look in Rings of Power at all. Obviously no one working on the show has looked at any for research
"It's going to provide lots of entertainment" No it's Anti-tainment
I didn't even watch the last 2 episodes of season 1. Somehow the idea of a headstrong princess knight swimming across the sea in armor and casually meeting Sauron of all people on a raft in the middle of the ocean didn't seem believable even in a fantasy setting.
Theoden: ... I go to my fathers, in whose mighty company I shall not now feel ashamed. ...
Simon Tolkien: Take everything Grandpa and dad did and destroy it! The issue with the Jackson Trilogy is that it was too close to the original!
Why is this the one thing Cancel Culture WON'T cancel?
In the u.s. there are an estimated 650k people that are 'homeless'.
With 1,000,000,000, they'd each get...1500.
We'd be well on the way to ending homelessness with that money(/s)
Silver lining, we will have more episode of "Gandalf Reacts to The Rings of Power". XD
Remember someone piss on the wall at castle
This is not going to end well.........for Amazon that is.
As an Amazon Prime member I don’t want to have to pay more for this next year or be forced to watch adverts to repay for this floater of a tv show that just won’t flush away!😕
I can't wait to see this show!
^
people like Disparu, Nerdrotic, and Critical Drinker roasting the crap out of
If Amazon Studios wanna keep supporting this lemon of a show, I say let them.
If it stops them from pandering with the Warhammer show, then I'd gladly let LOTR be a sacrificial lamb.
@@joshjo9405same here but with hazbin hotel and invincible.
We have seen "Good" fan fiction in Middle-earth. So we KNOW you can do it justice without the books.
Shadow of Mordor games - Yeah they take HUGE liberties with the lore, but it FEELS like Lord of the Rings
War in the North - Personal favorite of mine, a game that does also FEEL like LOTR
Battle for Middle Earth II campaign. Funny how the games actually make concessions but still feel fun and good to experience. Even the MMO, which I'm told is still popular, has many great stories in Middle Earth that are loved and respected even today.
Amazon didn't need the books to tell stories in Middle Earth, they just elected to cover one of the most dilligently covered part of the mythos with small tidbits from the appendecies. They could've made a fourth age series, have diversity with Gondor welcoming Harad into the fold, and they could even if they wanted to be edgy, create something based on the unreleased sequel, "The New Shadow"
I watched episode 1 in season 1 and that was it for me. Garbage in, garbage out !!
I learned my lesson after forcing myself to watch the 1st season of "The Wheel of Time" hoping it would get better. Spoiler Alert: It didn't. I dumped my Prime subscription and never looked back and even though I could watch RoP for free, I just haven't. When someone refuses to even pirate your garbage, you know it's time to hang it up and try something else.
you guys are the best news source ever. Never miss anything and always willing to go on detail.
I’d like for Clownfish to talk more about how Amazon is doing financially like they do with Disney. Amazon’s stock has gone down, business is slowing in their fulfillment centers, they’ve lost a lot of money with shows like the rings of power. It’s not looking good for Amazon, imo.
I am actually looking forward to the Clownfish TV, Anna TSWG, Mediaholic, Just Some Guy, Nerdrodic, Critical Drinker, Shadiversity, and perhaps Metatron coverage of this show!
Oh yay ... NOT 🎉
This is the best news you could have. Endless content farm.
I, myself, am waiting for the Rapping Orc.
at this point it's "who the hell cares?" xD
Another dose of Atrocious Amazon.
I just had to drop by RoP’s wonderful trailer and tell them how much I loved it when Galadriel made Ironman her wife and gave birth to adamantium! So stunning!
I'm enjoying boycotting new media this year, there's so much more old stuff I haven't seen to give a go and so much worth rewatching. No need to guzzle the spoiled milk coming out of the industry's teat currently.
