High school reunions conjure up such emotions, the nostalgia. This return visit and the channel creator's seeing people who still know he is, is touching. In a few years, he's possible he's seen as just a fan boy. It's here when one would so yearn be young again and show the impertinent kid who sees you as an old nobody that you too were once the cock of the walk. I wish we were born at 80 and live our lives backward!

I saw Hakuho in a Sumo tournament in Kumamoto Japan in 2017. I remember when he arrived at the stadium he had other sumo carrying his bags for him like porters. You just new he was the star of the show even if you didn't know who he was. It was brilliant to watch the matches.

After seeing Hakuoho with a highly impressive 11-4 record for his Makunouchi debut. As well as Kiho in Jyuryo (Especially day 10 vs Daiamami. That was an INCREDIBLE match) It made me think, "Damn, Miyagino-Oyakata's training his boys well."
I was thinking the same. And waiting to see if it would, which it did. It's incredible to think these guys have not only the honor of him watching, but receiving personal instruction from possibly the greatest Yokozuna ever.
That was enlightening to see real conversations between two retired athletes. Usual can be said of other athletes in any other sport. Very humbling and joyful to hear the level of passion and keen eyes.
For those wondering why he can't keep using the name Hakuho, after retirement a Yokozuna can only keep their sumo name if given a special Elder Stock by the Sumo Association. Despite the fact that he's easily the most famous sumo in over a generation the JSA decided instead to permanently abolish the one-generation Elder Stock rather than have to explain why they denied it to him. Of course many fans believe it almost certainly is heavily based in racism, as Hakuho is from Mongolia and the JSA is filled to the brim with racist old dinosaurs.
It's really hard to find great sumo content with English subtitles, and this is so good I've watched it 3 times already. I am subscribed now in hopes the English subtitles are a regular occurrence.
