I don't think we should just put up with that because then we're just telling these companies that they'll still make money from lazy game releases. On console, you will 100% lose any engagement with a PC player, there's no infantry zones, you have to hit level 30 or some shit just to get the spawn beacon so maybe you don't have to run 500 meters every time you die on a point, the vehicle call in system is stupid and fucking broken, and the "idea" of maps within maps doesn't work when they're fucking huge, set on dogshit positions, and there's only one flag. Every single map design and layout is terrible. What's even worse is a lot of the maps have locations that *could* potentially be interesting capture points, and they're just flat-out not used. If each "zone" had 2 or 3 flags the maps within maps would work better and then you'd only need majority flag control, while still being able to spawn in "nearby" as long as you have one of the 3. Even if you don't, neighboring zones would be closer so it still wouldn't suck as much ass. But then you're looking at 15 or so zones on a map. The entire game had zero playtesting.

I've been using the 10 hour free trial and with that coming to an end my main criticism is actually the map design. They look beautiful and I love the art direction but I've gone up to 10 minutes only seeing enemy vehicles on some maps, theres just so few indoor areas with infantry fights. But naturally I miss the stripped content like the campaign and the infantry-only and similar modes. It, like most other battlefield games feels anemic content-wise on launch, but I'd say this is honestly the most extreme this issue has been, disregarding bugs because its a battlefield launch afterall.
the campaign is missed but it makes sense. their ambition was big and adding a freaking story mode on top of it at the time, wouldve fricked up the game even more. hope they release a new one. and they also removed the ability to destroy like a 100 story skyscraper, it wouldve been real cool on a really big city map like the ones we get but instead we get tornados. we cant even destroy a single building in that game to my knowledge
A lot of the hate for this game is well deserved. Of all the battlefield games since at least bad company, it launched with the least amount of content. The only improvement they've made was map size and player count, and even then it wasn't well thought out. And there's tones of gameplay features that were improved upon in the past 3 games that just aren't here. We were advertised bf4 but bigger with that first trailer and everyone loved it. But as it got closer and closer to release it was easy to tell that this wasn't going to be battlefield anymore. It's clear that this was originally going to be a BR with specialists and they gave up on this as soon as BFV BR flopped.
Eh a lot of it was very blown out of proportion. Technically it has more content than any of the previous games because of portal. Portal and its xp integrations have made the game a truly fun and dynamic play experience. I'm assuming you don't own the game but if you do play some portal experiences that interest you and you might have some fun.
i honestly dont think i can ever forgive this game, even if they fix it. mainly because the canceled battlefront 2's development immediately after it got good to work on this game. i do think this game is not a bad game, when you arent facing bugs, but im still mad about it

It took me and my buddy a few weeks to build a VR lumberjack tycoon complete with clipping bodies and destructible objects in your house, as well as the trees lmao. 2042 is nothing but a lazy, unplaytested cash grab, just like the GTA trilogy. Nah, but I think that the operators ruined the immersion, mostly because they have this "I'm not flexing but I'm just better than everyone else" personality, and that just put off so many people because the real bf experience is that no one is special like I'm the trailer, there's some that are good and some not but in the end everyone will probably die anyways, hell look at the voice lines of bf3 and the victory voice lines bf2042, one are like from people in the most intense situation almost world ending, and then you have collage student at a Starbucks talking about his soccer practice match

I've discovered a wonderful thing that makes Battlefield way more fun for me: Breakthrough and Rush. WAYYYYYY more fun than Conquest and way more "Battlefield moments." I HIGHLY suggest you try a few rounds of that because the combat is more focused into front lines and specific objectives rather than headless chickens running around for musical chairs.

As a Battlefield player since 2, this game is the largest departure from what makes the series battlefield ever. This is bootleg Apex Warzone™️ and the issues plaguing this game are terminal; they can never be fixed without rebuilding the game from the movement system up.

What let bf2042 down was the disconnect between the creators and the players. We all loved bf2bc, 3,4 and 1. We didn’t like the hero shooter style they introduced in bfv, we didn’t want a battlefield battle Royale yet they decided to go down that path, and most of all we didn’t like them pushing out a game that was completely unfinished and barely even released out of alpha access. The shameless cash grab is unacceptable, and what’s worse is that the community didn’t revolt enough and demand a refund policy like no man’s sky had. I had fun for the 100 hours I put into it, but then I completed everything, so there definitely should have been more to get for £60 or $85

The first day of Early Access the game ran perfectly for me and it was so fun. As soon as they tried fixing the game my frames dropped pretty badly and now it's not that fun to play. If it ran well, it would be fun. Portal is still great fun.
Cyberpunk 2077 had soul from a small studio. I wanted to like BF2042 so bad. but there is no excuse for EA to release such an unfinished game that no one was anticipating, running off the same engine but less features from the previous titles. This is their flagship title beside FIFA, and they knew they could get away with it because we were still going to buy it.
Imo most shooters are just cringe now. Weird quips after a game, wacky cosmetics, “soldiers” that wouldn’t be found within 1,000 miles of a real warzone, etc. It’s like devs forget that they’re making an M rated game
Maybe I'm just a minority here, but I think a war game should feel like a WAR game. A lot of M-rated games nowadays don't feel like they even deserve the title. BF 2042 has no grit and arguably no character. I know grittiness is something frowned upon today. It doesn't "sell well" to all demographics, but war games don't feel like war games anymore. I think BF1 was the last AAA FPS that got the brutal atmosphere and seriousness of war right. Maybe CODMW's campaign did it well, but the multiplayer slowly got flooded with garbage that turned that around fast.

Just thought about something, CoD BO3 was probably one of the first popular games that had an operator system. They kept it in Bo4 as well. Atleast ever since MW 2019 they put away the ability system. Not sure how EA/DICE didn't think about what happened with Bo3 and Bo4.
I think the main problem with AAA gaming right now is pre orders It eliminates the publisher's urge to satisfy players at launch because they have already made fat bank by advertising a product that hasn't been properly shown off yet. 2042's reveal trailer looked absolutely amazing, and millions got hooked before even seeing actual gameplay I personally still have my fun with the game, but it could have been so much more if the guaranteed profit at launch didn't encourage EA to rush it's release months before it should

i played bf2042 for 20 hours. 10 of those hours were spent trying to get the game to run at all. i never got it to run smoothly, even though my pc meets the recommended specs. i had no friends to play the game with because everyone else refunded it

I know I'm mincing words, but I'm not sure 2042 was ever truly "hyped" up either. I think the the difference here was that there were certain expectations from Battlefield fans - upon seeing that it was going to be a 'modern' BF again, a lot of us thought this was going to be a return to form ala. BFBC/3/4, and it's ended up a half-baked battle royale wannabe. At this point I think all out war is dead, but I'm going to hold my breath that Portal mode gets heavily expanded upon, at the very least I'd LOVE to see that become a hub for literally every legacy BF map/weapon/etc - it'd be awesome to have playlists of 'Conquest Large with ALL BFBC2 + BF3 + BF4 maps on rotation'
@@m.o.x.d The only gripe I have with Portal modes are the limited experience you get from playing, as weapons aren't tied to a per-type level up system but to your own level. If you could keep unlocking everything at a steadily pace through Portal, I think that the 2 (only 2, that's outrageous) main modes would be forgotten in a week

Hey I'm kinda going through rough times and I wanted to say I like how you edit your videos, they're just soothing. I wish I could find more like this
I've discovered a wonderful thing that makes Battlefield way more fun for me: Breakthrough and Rush. WAYYYYYY more fun than Conquest and way more "Battlefield moments." I HIGHLY suggest you try a few rounds of that because the combat is more focused into front lines and specific objectives rather than headless chickens running around for musical chairs.
i found the fun part of it being destroying buildings, sounds simple but almost no game has destruction that lasts all match. especially one that lets u freaking demolish a 100 story skyscraper.
As a Battlefield player since 2, this game is the largest departure from what makes the series battlefield ever. This is bootleg Apex Warzone™️ and the issues plaguing this game are terminal; they can never be fixed without rebuilding the game from the movement system up.
mad cuz bad at games. Time moves on and battlefield will die if it doesn't change and modernize. It did that fairly well and as someone that doesn't like apex or warzone I enjoy the game a lot. Clearly you haven't played those games or this one. Grow up Corrie and spell your name correctly next time.

The beta was fun, the game, not so much. 110 bucks down the drain but I’d rather not waste my time trying to justify the purchase and instead just accept that I got punked. Won’t happen again as I’m not buying another game from EA let alone dice ever again.

What let bf2042 down was the disconnect between the creators and the players. We all loved bf2bc, 3,4 and 1. We didn’t like the hero shooter style they introduced in bfv, we didn’t want a battlefield battle Royale yet they decided to go down that path, and most of all we didn’t like them pushing out a game that was completely unfinished and barely even released out of alpha access. The shameless cash grab is unacceptable, and what’s worse is that the community didn’t revolt enough and demand a refund policy like no man’s sky had.
I had fun for the 100 hours I put into it, but then I completed everything, so there definitely should have been more to get for £60 or $85

The first day of Early Access the game ran perfectly for me and it was so fun. As soon as they tried fixing the game my frames dropped pretty badly and now it's not that fun to play. If it ran well, it would be fun. Portal is still great fun.

Cyberpunk 2077 had soul from a small studio. I wanted to like BF2042 so bad. but there is no excuse for EA to release such an unfinished game that no one was anticipating, running off the same engine but less features from the previous titles. This is their flagship title beside FIFA, and they knew they could get away with it because we were still going to buy it.

Imo most shooters are just cringe now. Weird quips after a game, wacky cosmetics, “soldiers” that wouldn’t be found within 1,000 miles of a real warzone, etc.

Maybe I'm just a minority here, but I think a war game should feel like a WAR game. A lot of M-rated games nowadays don't feel like they even deserve the title. BF 2042 has no grit and arguably no character. I know grittiness is something frowned upon today. It doesn't "sell well" to all demographics, but war games don't feel like war games anymore. I think BF1 was the last AAA FPS that got the brutal atmosphere and seriousness of war right. Maybe CODMW's campaign did it well, but the multiplayer slowly got flooded with garbage that turned that around fast.
@@astrodreamer946 I completely agree. It feels like they want to expand to younger demographics but the quality has suffered tremendously for it. I love real war games too and hopefully if the devs listen to reviews we can get those games back in the near future

Just thought about something, CoD BO3 was probably one of the first popular games that had an operator system. They kept it in Bo4 as well. Atleast ever since MW 2019 they put away the ability system. Not sure how EA/DICE didn't think about what happened with Bo3 and Bo4.

I think the main problem with AAA gaming right now is pre orders
It eliminates the publisher's urge to satisfy players at launch because they have already made fat bank by advertising a product that hasn't been properly shown off yet. 2042's reveal trailer looked absolutely amazing, and millions got hooked before even seeing actual gameplay
I personally still have my fun with the game, but it could have been so much more if the guaranteed profit at launch didn't encourage EA to rush it's release months before it should
im pretty sure the price tag has a big part in why people hate this game and the company i mean imagine buying a $60 sandwich and when you try to eat it some of the meat glitches through the bread i mean even if it taste good is it still worth $60? and you cant even customize your sandwich

I am a long-term Battlefield fan and I hated 2042. I couldn't even make it through 5-10 hours. Considering how much I like Bad Company 2, BF3, BF4 and BF1it is a real shame. Glad you are having fun though! :P
Same, 2042 just has no soul compared to other battlefield games, no all chat makes basically nobody talk in chat, the specialists make everyone look the same, i just dont like it and i hope dice doesn’t follow the same path for the next game.

i played bf2042 for 20 hours. 10 of those hours were spent trying to get the game to run at all. i never got it to run smoothly, even though my pc meets the recommended specs. i had no friends to play the game with because everyone else refunded it
There are several games I can think of that actually live up to the hype. Doom 2016, Doom eternal, Halo 1,2,3 and infinite.

Aside from 2042 being bad or good, I kinda disagree on the hype thing. You get games that match expectations often enough, like a few of the recent re games. Think halo infinite is pleasing people too
I know I'm mincing words, but I'm not sure 2042 was ever truly "hyped" up either. I think the the difference here was that there were certain expectations from Battlefield fans - upon seeing that it was going to be a 'modern' BF again, a lot of us thought this was going to be a return to form ala. BFBC/3/4, and it's ended up a half-baked battle royale wannabe.
At this point I think all out war is dead, but I'm going to hold my breath that Portal mode gets heavily expanded upon, at the very least I'd LOVE to see that become a hub for literally every legacy BF map/weapon/etc - it'd be awesome to have playlists of 'Conquest Large with ALL BFBC2 + BF3 + BF4 maps on rotation'
@@m.o.x.d The only gripe I have with Portal modes are the limited experience you get from playing, as weapons aren't tied to a per-type level up system but to your own level. If you could keep unlocking everything at a steadily pace through Portal, I think that the 2 (only 2, that's outrageous) main modes would be forgotten in a week
