- The Louwman Museum is a museum for historic cars, located on the outskirts of The Hague towards Wassenaar (Netherlands). From the period up to 1910 the museum has the largest collection of cars in the world.
The museum was opened by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands on July 3, 2010.
The collection of over 230 cars has been assembled since 1934 by two generations of the Louwman family. The current owner of the collection is Evert Louwman, the Dutch importer of Lexus, Toyota and Suzuki. It is the oldest private collection of automobiles in the world open to the public.
From post-World War II the museum features a car of Winston Churchill, the Aston Martin DB5 used in the James Bond movie Goldfinger, and a Cadillac of Elvis Presley.
The Louwman Museum is housed in a building with three floors and over 10,000 m2 of exhibition space. It was specifically designed as a museum by Michael Graves, an American architect. Landscape architect Louis Baljon designed the layout of the park surrounding the building.

This museum was just featured a little earlier tonight on Speed TV's "Car Crazy". After seeing some of this incredible museum on TV, I just had to see more and found this video. What an an unbelievable place, I hope I can go there someday!

i live in the Hague, and ive been there ones, but i did make an mistake, ive came there about 12 o clock, and for this museum, is that too late, its so big, you have to be there about 10 o clock, if you want to see everything.
Its the most beautifull, and the biggest carmuseum ive ever seen in my life.
I love how people that bring their own classic cars can park right in front of the musuem.

Het is zestig geleden dat ik met mijn vader in het museum ben geweest word tijd dat ik weer eens kom kijken de rondleiding van toen zal nu wel niet gebeuren met uitleg van de hr loumans zelf

mooie video, klasse.. ben er zelf ook geweest . mijn favo car is toch wel de Duesenberg SJ Lagrande uit 1935. Ik ga zeker nog eens terug.

This was a really great video. Loved the cars. Thumbs up and Favorited! The Rolls Royce Phantom is one of my favorite cars since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
I see not one car which i have a feeling with. Maybe the wrong concept. It is overspecialised. The collection was great 50 years ago.
My profession is collecting. To make a car special in a museum, it shoud be surrounded by less special cars. This museum is not as good as a chocolatcake, its only the chocolat, that makes it less tastier.
I've ben to this Museum a load of times. I have no idea what you mean with overspecialised. It has cars from over 100 years till now.. Half of the cars are from the last 20 years.. So how can it be great 50 years ago? I doubt you have any feelings with cars at all if you don't have feelings with these.
