Tinges to Jiangnan tells the story of an artists painting of Jiangnan, a place in China known for its picturesque scenery, and especially for being a town that literally sits on a body of water. Some would liken the place to the Venice of China, as means of transportation through the town is mainly by boat instead of cars.
The song's title in Chinese is an allusion to the artist injecting pieces of their feelings or memories from their time spent there through their choice of colours or brushstrokes, whether they be fond memories or memories of a loved one. For this reason the title was awfully difficult to come up with an English equivalent as I couldn't think of an accurate definition for "injecting of feelings" while still retaining its poetic nature. After some fumbling around, "Tinges" was used for its interchangeability with colour and feelings/emotion. Genius!

"I win," she declared mischievously as she made a mess of the board, much to his amusement. This was the eleventh match they had that day, and with no surprise, she had lost all of them. To her ire, she had never once won a match against him no matter how much she had secretly practiced during the night. Yet despite hating to lose against anyone, she found herself challenging him again and again whenever they were free just so she could see the way the corners of his mouth curl up as he watched her struggle to figure out the next move fondly.
Huffing in exasperation, she took a look at the scene around them. Splashes of blue met vivid green, combining to form a swirl of colours that drew a beautiful landscape. Ripples formed on the lake as the wind blew gently. Lotuses swayed along the breeze, rocking the small boat they were sitting in. It was as if they had stepped into a painting, one that took her breath away whenever she laid her eyes on the scene.
He watched as she admired the view, her eyes twinkling in the light. He had never been the person to enjoy sightseeing, but the day they had come to the lake together, it was as if the view had been imprinted in his heart. The way she pouted when she lost the match, the way she laughed when she was joyful. The way she was willing to express her every emotion when she was with him-- because she knew he would never leave her even if she wasn't the perfect lady everyone thought she was. He wanted to see her every mood, carving every image of her into his memory so he would never forget her.
All she could see was the picturesque scenery, while all he could see, was her.

*The lyrics describes the beautiful sceneries in Jiangnan while transcribing their love into the views they've seen, its almost as if I can envision the scenes right before my very eyes*
**吹糖 is a traditional candy art, usually translated as Sugar Blowing. Like its name suggests, the artists will boil sugar to a proper temerature, which is then pulled and blown into various shapes. Some skilled artists can even make a sculpted figure such as a dragon from it!*
***百戏 used to be a performing show/arts back in the days, including a variety of performances such as magic, acrobatics, music, dance, martial arts and etc.*
