Each plunger (dowel) has a spring underneath that pushes on the dentent that stop the selecter shafts drifting along. It looks like two of yours are rusted in place, as they should all pop up when the gear lever cover is removed.
John Somerset I removed all of them and cleaned them up so they all move freely. I’ve determined most of my issue now is due to the clutch not fully disengaging.
Did you find out about the other dowels? My Dexta gets stuck in gear when you try and find reverse. More often than not it is selecting a forward gear at the same time and just locks up. If you keep trying eventually it will select reverse.

How did you assemble your gearshifter stick back on the plate in an easy way?
I am having trouble with the springs that lock it in to place.
I do not remember how exactly I did it. I think I had to have someone help.

How do you take the gear handles out of the bracket mine is cracked but have a new 1 can't figure hot to get the gear handles out
You have to push down on the springs that hold the covers for the handles down. There are snap rings that hold those springs on. It’s kind of a pain.
