Really glad to see Pyke's intricacies being given proper quality attention, probably the only combo not shown is how instantly E goes off after Q for stuff like Q fling backwards E (and the range on that meaning you can apply all your cc as safely as possible and E happening as soon as they land with fast enough timing). The advanced phantom redirecting was top tier, great vid
1. I think it is also good to know that the Q always pulls them with a fixed distance (about the half of the length of fully charged Q). This makes it easy to predict where to cast your ult immediately after hitting Q. 2. Also after you cast your E, you ignore unit collisions and can walk through units until the shadow comes back to you. 3. Cool combo is that you can dash with E to the enemy, then use Q to slow them and walk through them (see 2.) to hit the stun. This combo can be used if you are at max camouflage range (W indicator) or closer.
@@argoareis3372 It doesn't say it anywhere even in the wiki. I discovered it by accident, when I used in a minion wave and could move through all the minions.

Even as a pyke main, some of these were very very interesting - I didn't learn any new mechanic, but definitely learned a few new ways to use them (even if it's in very particular scenarios). Great video!

Whyguy motivated me to main Pyke and helped me carry myself out of silver. I will never forget him that. And now I can master him even more Best thanks
As a diamond Pyke player with 400k mastery, I can say that 90% of this can be found through reading his skills and a minuscule amount of observation/imagination. Pyke is not a character for just anyone to pick up, nor do any of these tips define his strong suits. Gold generation is the name of the game. If you aren't scoring 3-4 man multikills on him consistently, being hyper aggressive with roaming, realizing if your team can even use him, AND landing 8/10 of your hooks per game...don't pick him up. Sometimes it's better to realize that overall team composition (both ally and enemy) are more condusive to winning games with minimal resistance. You need mechanics and a carry mindset to play this character, but you also need to realize that his ability to ward freely comes 2nd to NONE. You aren't "unpunishable", but the collective mobility between his w-e-r make it extremely difficult to ever pin him down. You need to recognize his kill window, his kill order, cc that's still available, what mobility you have available, healing/shielding that ruins your ult execution (I'm looking at you Lulu, Janna, Raka players), itemization (big tip: longsword is your friend always. Don't go to the fight without backing for one or you're gonna miss R by literally THAT much in a depressing amount of cases.). There are a host of factors that play into just his performance, but there are even more when it comes to how he operates with his team. Hitting Q for pulls is great, but you also need to consider that his Q is a fixed distance. This means the closer you are, the further they're displaced. In a fight you could completely save someone from skill shots on accident, so be weary. On the subject of what to do in a hard game when it's 1v9? You should NOT and I repeat NOT be dying. E-ing in raw, even if your confident and skilled, is a coinflip. I've coached countless students that want to be Pyke gods, yet they fail to break this habit many times. LEAD with the Q out of W. You're a hook character. There isn't an excuse not to be using charged bone skewer every time it's available unless you need to burst the target with tap Q or an easy R. It's low CD, low mana cost (as are all his abilities), and pretty big even at tip range. I'm a Thresh main, just trust me on this one and spam the fuck out of Pyke Q. Thresh is not so lucky or even half as mobile though he boasts greater and more reliable utility, especially at early levels. Pyke needs time to become Pyke, and going in like a madman without utilizing grey hp over and over is a waste of his passive's potential while heavy trading/all inning. He has enough mobility to almost never die, so long as his user is operating him correctly. E is 3-fold in that: you have the option to pick the fight, avoid the fight, OR disrupt the fight. You need to know which is more important as well as whether to target their frontline or backline since YOU ALWAYS have options. There's no shame in hitting 1 or 2 roams in a hard bot lane when you have an ADC like EZ shooting nerf bullets early on. Cause chaos, make it a horror film, inspire fear every time you dip into the fog. If the enemy isn't hesitant to commit to pushes/fights post 10-15 minutes...sorry kid...that ain't Pyke. There are a plethora of other things I could go into about him and his actual hidden tech, as well as useful info on every other support (support main gang), but that's reserved for my students. I will say that before you ever swap off of something easy like Raka, Blitz, Leo, etc. to a technical character like Thresh or Pyke, you need to focus on your role as a support. Warding, establishing zones of dominance, and assisting in macro-level gameplay is what we do. You're a little menace that doesn't even have to farm, so now the burden is on you to think in a crazy way with all that time on how you 5 are going to win the game. Help itemize if you see something weird, ping MORE (you don't ping a lot, or watch your map every 3 seconds, trust me I coach Diamond/Master/GM that go full vegetable), set up ambushes with control wards/sweepers (on that note...SWEEP! Omfg I hate when I see supports with like 2-5 wards destroyed by the end of game. Literally shows where you are dude), and blame yourself when your team fails. A roam could've happened, a ping could've come out sooner, you could've capitalized and got an obj or called a gank for your lane. Think outside the box, this role involves more brainpower than many give it credit for or you may have initially thought. Again if you're seeking coaching, lemme know. I've turned Bronzies to Diamonds and even a few Diamonds to Challengers. Hope this helped you expand your LoL worldview!
