i agreed with you until i got it yesterday... its mostly an advanced version of siege and very easy to transform. it has no way more complex than many movie line Primes.
I just love how it does what barely ANY other Prime has done in recent years, the legs ACTUALLY convert and don't just stick out the back with its toes down. I also love how there's even molded trailer hitch detail and the vents on Prime's shins are on the underside more or less, like the original G1 Prime.
@@LightBloxVidsYT Exactly. I never liked how they just did the bare minimum with the transformation. I mean, for God's sake it's a LEADER CLASS. You're competing out here with the likes of SS86 Sludge that has a goddamn SOUL SHREDDING GUITAR SOLO of a conversion. Or how about the many VOYAGERS that put his legs to shame, like SS38 Optimus, or Siege Optimus, that one at least has a reason for the shin vents to be facing upward because, y'know, space truck.
The whole back of the truck looks so messy on the mp-44 figure. The commander class shows that you don't have to over-complicate a transformation for it too be good, while still having great looking alt modes.
seeing this entire video has made me so happy in ways i cant explain. im gonna go get myself one when i get paid next week. it looks like an affordable and more fun looking MP-44 alternative
I think my favorite part is the legs, you expect them to be getting pretty good at making the front, but last time the legs committed to the bit was Siege. I figured he'd be more than a plussed Voyager when he was revealed, and Hastak did not disappoint. This is leader budget well spent.
It’s just so elegant! I don’t love the backpack or the big index fingers, and I wish they could’ve given us more than 90° in the elbows, and imagine if they had included an ab crunch. …And that’s about everything negative I can say about the figure’s engineering. The praise would have to go on for way too long. It’s really a definitive figure for years to come and I hope we get a bunch of versions.
Thanks so much for this. I just spent almost the last two hours trying to transform him. I got stuck at the torso part where you fold the flaps. The instructions aren't that clear. Now that I've seen this video I will be able to do it. I haven't had a transformer since I was a kid. This is the penultimate Optimus Prime. I had a look at some other and this one's design is pleasing and accurate to the G1 cartoon.
For all the backpack haters, it’s like an inch bigger than it should be cmon, let’s just enjoy the best toon accurate mainline Optimus hasbro has released
Well to be fair the masterpiece did have a backpack and a transformation enough to make jobby regret all his life decisions, and that costed like... 3 times
Ratchets on a fi fire of this size aren’t necessarily if it can be perfectly stable on its own. Not having ratchets allows more articulation because it’s not restricted to the detents, and ratchets can be stupid depending on the situation. I’m glad it doesn’t have ratchets because it doesn’t need them. Whereas armada prime, he has a whole super mode that requires them to be stable and sturdy enough to be the size of a small combiner.
@@Demolisher-40-556 uh huh, you got brainwashed by hasbro and Takara. You don’t know what “not that big” actually is. He’s got more junk in the trunk than big firebird Nicee.
I love the look of this figure, but I will admit that the articulation is lower than it should be for a Commander Class. A head that can look up, more than a 90 degree elbow bend, and feet that can shift upward. That's all I ask for and it would have been perfect in my eyes.
I have an earthrise prime, and this trailer and earthrise both have pegs. From the look of the one this trailer has, yes they will most likely be compatible
Magic Square is also a higher price, and doesn’t have to worry about regulations and actually getting it sold at retail. Comparing a defacto masterpiece to a mainline is just dumb

If it was as simple as the g1 toy, there’s no point in making another figure.
