@@leafyleafeon3825 On other videos of AoA performing this song they introduce themselves as a group who have been performing for “40 - 50 years” and I always thought it was kinda funny but I never heard an audience reaction to that line until I watched this video. :)
They also chage the songs up as time goes by to keep it relevant. Which is actually a pain in the butt, because one of those versions is my favourite, but do you think I remember which performance it was? Nope!
I saw the original video when I was like 11 and I stupidly didn’t realize how young they were and believed it when they said were together for 40 years
This reminds me of the book by Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond called The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way). The KLF wrote this book about how to make a number one hit and supposedly used their own book that produce some classic dance anthems from the early to mid 90s.
- No woman no cry - Yeah momma this surely is a dream -Don't tell me your sorry cause your not -Well I guess this is growing up -I come from the land down under... Just thought it would fit the cadence of that part.
Yeah, there are still so many 4 chord songs to choose from :') not a good sign for pop music. It's been stagnating in creativity for a while. Since the 'hit singles" are written by a handful of people and performed by many artists bound to a record label. Like Skylar grey she probably has more writing credits than lots of other female artists. She basically wrote lots of Rihanna songs for her.
It's not just the point, they will obviously make decisions depending on the audience. The original will have australian bands nobody knows in Montreal, so they swapped those for bands/songs that are locally well known. Also, I mean, if you are doing this again and again you will welcome any change^^
As in You're Beautiful, these chords are in one part, verse, bridge or chorus, then the song changes. Brilliant though, they managed to start from the 2nd bar as well, so to make it VI IV I V instead of I V VI IV. I bet in the future there'll be plenty of more songs with these chords. It's not just pop though, they've been used in classical music as well. They just sound good, nothing you can do about it. Sound, arrangement, vocals, lyrics, instruments and the lot make all the difference. Try I VI IV V or I V IV V and you can come up with hundreds of songs for each progression. Not to mention the blues progression which works for most blues and rock and roll hits of the 50s 60s 70s
0:40 yes four chord I-V-vi-IV. chords not matter if they same pattern. we can transpose and they become exac same chords.. and add do it. some songs use same pattern different order vi-IV -I-V still same chords and plus there is other key that use same chords even pattern is different. chords not make big different. its melody that make song. now make songs with same melody. yes there is couple xD
@@EPrimeify Don't like facts huh don't have an argument to why we should? I know you don't because there is nothing to back it up with but hey thanks for the comment 9 months later
It’s really the same chord progression rather than the same four chords. The chords change depending on the key. The chord progression being I V vi IV. Those are Roman numerals. The lowercase indicates a minor chord and the upper case indicates a major chord. If you aren’t into music theory none of this makes any sense.
They finally got a laugh from the “40 years” gag!
You'd have thought that as they get older, they'd get less reaction to that one, not more. But I do like it.
they do that joke for more than 10 years without changing the number hahaha
and it only took 40 years
Can someone explain?

Because if they used all the song every time, they'd be there for days
It is nice to watch each if the these videos and see the differences. Keeps it fresh

I'd argue the guy on keyboard can't quite hit the high note of Take On Me for as long as he used to in older clips of this song

Yeah, like any band playing their four-chord-songs for decades.
You can sing the lyrics from any The Chainsmokers' song to the melody of any The Chainsmokers' songs.
Private Idaho for that I would need to know the lyrics from any chainsmokers song and the melody from any chainsmokers song.

Thank you for performing this tribute ❤
UA-cam HQ: Hey boss, you seeing this?

Nah, fair use means they can use a teensey portion of the song if they're needing to do so to make an argument or prove a point.
Which they sorta are.
