I have this game and yeah, it sucks. This actually pre-dates the Kamp Krusty episode, which was originally meant to be a movie, but ended up being a regular episode instead due to the writers feeling unable to write a movie-length Simpsons story! There are other Simpsons games which each have a bad rep, like Simpsons Wrestling and Skateboarding, but despite their choppy framerates and not feeling quite right, I still found them both to be largely playable! Bad soundtrack aside, for a game that's hated by many, I found Simpsons Skateboarding to be a rather good time! Although I never played it myself, my brother did have the Commodore 64 version of Bart vs. The Space Mutants back in the day, and Konami's Simpsons Arcade game was a BIG favorite of ours! How many of Acclaim's Simpsons games did I play as a kid? Just one, Krusty's Fun House on the Game Boy! I thought it was rather good! I don't have it anymore, but I do plan to get the Mega Drive and Game Gear versions!
I like this game "more" than you. I just REALY like the Simpsons I guess. You're channel rox I've been binge watching it since last night. Earned my sub for sure.

Modern Simpsons games are better.
Oh the irony. Classic Simpsons is the best, but in the games it's the modern Simpsons that is the best.
