Also I forgot once you open the can and you want to save the rest do you save it in the can or do you put it in glass jars vacuum sealed?
We will use it now that it is open, but it still has a decent shelf life once opened. You can also make different meals out of it, so it will get used up!

Got my cans a week ago decided I’m going to open the morning try it and put the rest on the shelf I’m probably going to buy a couple more cans also!!!!!
People need to know that Augason farms has sold the majority of shares,managment of their family business to a privately held,owned equity firm. Also I ordered some of this and after opening a can to try and feeding it to my family I found shredded plastic IN the left over mix. After doing some research on reviews, questions on Amazon I'm not the only one this has happened to. This has been a issue for at least a year. I reported it to the company and they acted as first time hearing about it. The other people may not have reported it. But people need to know that the food their storing for emergencies may have shreds of plastic in it,little pieces of plastic in it. Also this burger mix has bioengineered ingredients in it.

These are great for the price. I bought a case for less than $10 a can off of Amazon. Way cheaper than freeze dried meat.
I was on the fence about this, because someone said it was more rice than anything. yet the first ingredient listed is black beans. If a kid likes the taste, then I'm sure I'll be OK with it.
I eat black beans all the time they are a awsome meat substitute

I've had those before and it's pretty good, so no... it's not disgusting vegan food.
For me yes did taste like a burger she used onions peanuts and blackbeans seasoning n tasted good was a surprise for me by my bestfriend didnt tell me until after i finished it
I like the black bean burger. I bought 1 can to try and then bought 5 more. It's good just for a change.
Also taco seasoning can add flavor.

It's exactly like zatarains rice and beans in a box. Picture turning that into hamburgers.... this would definitely be a struggle food. Still had mushy rice and bean bites throughout when I ate it... likely won't use as burger substitute and get Augason Farms tomato chunks to use instead as a side dish and get dehydrated meats when they are on sale.
Question? Do u think is a good idea eating this food every single day? Or just for emergency?

I ordered 4 cans of the black bean burger on Amazon for $12.98 each. Minutes later it was over $28 a can.
Wow, you got a deal. I ordered a 4 gallon bucket three days ago for $68. The next day it went to $129. It’s going to take several weeks to come in. Then I ordered one of those $28 cans to try. I did a cost analysis and even at $129/bucket or $28/can it is still worth it. I’m about to purchase another bucket.

I just bought a can for 13.00 today.
just bought this yesterday at 'Wally World'....curious to see what it's about....(was thinking I'd be adding canned black beans, and/or getting creative with it).....had NO idea it had a shelf life that long.....will be looking into more stuff like this...thx...
I mixed a egg in mine when i mixed it. Since I have chickens..why not lol have them cooking now.

How long does it last after opened???
I was told it was good up to one year after opening if stored in cool,dry space like pantry. Maybe put in a couple of new oxygen absorbers if your not going to eat right away.

Not sure. It wasn't bad. You can definitely tell it isn't meat, but it tastes good.
Once opened do you put it in the fridge or cupboard until used up.
Are these vegan ?
I have some of the mix, I followed directions EXACTLY and the burgers turned out dry and so solid that they weren't good at all, and the rice inside was crunchy...not good. I thought maybe adding just a tad more warm water might improve the consistency and taste, maybe letting the mix set for a bit longer to soak in more moisture might improve it too. I dont know will have to wait and see...❤
Could it be formed to make ground beef for tacos or spaghetti.
