Happy birthday Abou, may allah give you a lot of happy years to come. Injuries have robbed you of a career, you had a short but somehow long career. We will always love you,you beast.
I’m glad I became an Arsenal fan at the start of the 2007 season. Their was a glimmer of hope when I saw didn’t paired with cazorla against a 2-1 win against Liverpool.
Of all the many many players Wenger was robbed of after 2004, by Chelsea, United, City or injuries; he is still the one player I regret losing the most
He was an absolute monster of a player, a natural successor to Patrick Vieira. Till this day, I still think of what could’ve been for Arsenal if he didn’t had those injuries
I watched him absolutely destroy Steven Gerard in one of the precious few matches he played for Arsenal. The sport world was very sadly deprived of a genuinely WORLD CLASS footballer. I watched the incident that defined his career which was a blatant cowardly assault. Wenger said afterwards that they seriously considered reporting the assault to the police. I guess we were just lucky to have had him for the time we did.
For me if he played out his carrier injury free, He was going to be better than Viera and I have a feeling he would have played at Real Madrid later because he was going to make Arsenal a lot of money that they needed those days due to the stadium.
Much much better than that idiot Pogba. On contrary of what most commented here, it’s not bad luck with injuries ruined him. It’s that tackle from Sunderland’s Dan Smith with broke his ankle and subsequently shorten his foot on one side completely after recovery. My dream midfield pairing of Abou Diaby and another lost talent in Micheal Johnson from Man City.
I cried watching this ... I genuinely believe he was one of the most talented footballers ever to wear the red and white shirt ... he should have been an Arsenal player for decades ... such a beautiful soul too ... the new Paddy Viera ... so sad ... greatly missed ... never forgotten.
Of all the pain I’ve felt as a 23 year old Arsenal, and there’s been a lot. Not seeing Diaby achieve the greatness his potential promised is right up there with the saddest :’( Best wishes Abu
Yeah you know I’m actually going to talk about this, so basically like there are players like Diaby here, Who has so much potential and show it all the time they show that they have that quality that star quality to become a great player. But it’s unfortunate to see that injuries can take them over, for example let’s take Jack Wilshere, he was very potential as we saw with his arsenal game vs Barcelona, he had that star quality to become a great player for Arsenal, but, injuries can really really ruin a players career you know once they like get injured more and more throughout time. I’m a Manchester United fan and I can use Alexis Sanchez for example, he was such a predominant player for Arsenal and had all the quality statistics with him. But sadly of course injuries took the lad over and he didn’t get to reach that full potential with us. In conclusion, injuries can really ruin great players the more and more they get injured. And I think that Abou. Diaby could of been such a high, historical, iconic, beast for arsenal.
"Coach, I want to be a world class midfielder. Shall I combine Paul scoles, yaya toure, inniesta and xavi in my game?... No need young man. Just be 80 percent as good as Abu Diaby and you will be the best midfielder Ever!
What a wonderful player! I loved watching him. As a Liverpool fan, I really miss this era of Arsenal when they were such a great team to watch and always competing for the big trophies. Any game featuring Arsenal was worth watching. I can't think of another club who has lost so many brilliant players to injuries. Was it just bad luck? Or something to do with their training? Or they deliberately targeted by lesser teams? Diaby, Wilshire, Walcott, Ox, Cazorla, Ramsey, Eduardo all lost huge chunks of their career to terrible injuries from bad tackles.
Even as a united fan I’d admit Diaby was such a great player and would’ve surely went on too greater things if he didn’t have such bad luck .... everyone always talks about Wiltshire aswell... too me diaby a bigger loss , just a man united fan opinion 🤷😂
Bulldozer Diaby. An absolute monster player. I always rated Diaby so highly even if some people made fun of me. The likes of Rosicky, Cesc, Diaby, Wilshere, Hleb, RVP, Eduardo etc were such a joy to watch. 🥲🥲👍
When he was fit to play, he was bossing the midfield all the time. People don't remember his qualities nowadays. What a shame, imagine the level he could be at if not for the injuries...
Damn...I remember that day when I picked Arsenal, my friend picked Real Madrid on PES. It was his PlayStation and I lost all the time. But that day I beat him so bad cause Diaby went all crazy and did a solo goal through like 6,7 of them.
I ALWAYS had Diaby in the center when playing any Fifa he was in. Always had big stops and long ranged goals, everything went through him and through him my Arsenal won a lot
I miss seeing Diaby glide down the pitch with an eloquence few could match. Unfortunately, he had terrible luck with injuries. He deserved better. But I watch a video like this and remember my love for him. An absolute Joey to watch.
I keep reminiscing to think of what a great footballer Diaby would have been if he had been injury free. I always shed a tear when I see his videos. He definitely goes down as one of my favourite footballers to wear that Arsenal shirt. God bless you Diaby
