I'm also curious about the overall benefit time vs money gained in taking SS early vs FRA. For my familys avg life span I'll have maybe til 78 or so. The maths don't add up to wait until FRA. It actually makes sense to take it asap and enjoy it 🤷♂️. Unless I lived til 85-90 it wouldn't make sense. I think around the time I'm expected to die is when FRA starts to outpace collecting SS immediately
Yeah, we had some issues with the microphone for this video which required sound compression. Fortunately it's been fixed going forward. Sorry for the low quality audio this round.
I've heard your advice before many times where people get disenchanted or bored in retirement. I'm constantly busy at 40 with projects (house and hobby) that I don't see any way how I'd be bored in retirement. Are these the "workaholics" that have no skills or talent outside of work? I don't mean that insultingly, I'm genuinely asking because I'm perplexed how people can't find things or hobbies to do if they planned for their retirement financially that they wouldn't already have planned even a thin idea what they'd do in retirement.
Thx for tuning in. You bring up a good point. While many do have things to keep them busy, sometimes people feel that they're not contributing to work that FEELS valuable anymore. After a life of service and working on incredibly important tasks, day-to-day can become "boring" or unfulfilling for people. That's why finding your purpose in retirement and having community is so critical, in conjunction with your own hobbies and projects. Hope this helps offer some clarity! - TG
That does offer clarity, thank you! I've noticed my that only a portion of my TSP is Roth, the matching contribution is taxable- is this fixable? I was under the impression when I made my Roth contributions, the entire TSP account would be Roth. I'd really like to connect and talk with you or someone who is knowledgable on this if possible!! @@TheFedCorner
i am debt free been retired 15 months, we don't need to touch our ira/tsp, wont take ss until fra
That’s incredible! Glad you have that level of flexibility. Thanks for tuning in!

Definitely like the specific strategies of retirement planning.
Got it!
The background noise/music was maddening. I kept having to make sure that my sink wasn't dripping.
