Wyoming Jade, a Deeper Look

Hunting Jade in Wyoming - where to look, where did it come from, how was it formed.
Craig Hazelton is a jade expert in progress whose interest in jade started when local club members showed him some Wyoming Jade. “It took me a long time to find some in the jade fields”, says Craig. Since then, he has attended jade festivals, jade carving workshops, made many friends in the jade community, and entered the 2014 World Jade symposium (he won the T-shirt shown in this photo for a jade carving). Craig has a strong geologic curiosity, and is learning by taking many seminars, a college course, conversations with experts, and of course UA-cam!

There is lots of places to find Jade in Wyoming. Some of the roads around here are paved in Jade after going threw the crusher. Just going to some of the local rock quarries can be a good place to get Jade. Fun stone to work. But it can be a bear to get a glass like shine on it.

In my place too there is lots of serpentine and jade..... I have collected Many Nephrite and Serpentine.... Few Jadeite....
In the River.....
But I never search on the mountains... But once I found a boulder of serpentine....
Can you guys help me to Understand how to start my searching of jadeite on mountains..... Please

Start in areas where jade has been found before. Stop and check alluvial deposits. If you find jade in them you can work your way up and hopefully find the source.
