Just the other day I put a rack of ribs on my pit boss, and one on the Weber kettle . I foiled boat both pourd beer 🍺 in the boats. As I was waiting i thought 💭 to my self! What else can i do? I looked in the fridge and saw a big jar of salsa , So I spread the the salsa chili sauce all over the ribs ! Wow 🤩 oh Man I tell you what best ever .
Appreciate the honest review. You show the grills true capabilities of what it can handle for the consumer who is looking to pick one up and will know exactly what to watch for when they start using it. Thanks for the hard work.
Appears to have needed more time for sure. That bone was still quite sticky. But thats not what this pit is for. Not sure if this is the one for me. Might just have to keep waiting.
Picked one up this morning, to bad we have severe stortms on the way. I am going to run some wings drizzled with alabama white sauce. Thank you for the video
Fine cooking there Tommy. Im glad to see that the batteries lasted a good while. I picked up a torch and the water spritzer! Can’t wait for a reverse sear and a comparison vid to the Asmoke.
Thanks buddy. Not sure Comparision vids coming. That said. If you love charcoal. Get this. If you have any specific questions. LMK gallerybbq@gmail.com
Thanks for your review. Outstanding test. I'm very interested in this grill as a complement to my friends' electric smoker. I can wheel it to their place, and we can do ribs, pulled pork and some sides. This is super interesting as a bbq grill that can run on batteries and fuel for that smoked meat experience. Definitely would try this with a deboned shoulder tied with string. Great review, and thanks again.
Just made some Prime cowboy ribeyes on my 560 the other night. This would have been perfect for those. MB should make an optional griddle top for this. Smash burgers would be fricking amazing on it. Maybe Grill Grate has something that'll fit. I didn't know this grill even existed until this morning. Now I gotta get me one. Good video as always sir.
Some of my observations: When I did the burnoff I was staying at 550deg using the adapter plug in. Tonight I decided to do burgers. This time I used the batteries and didn't get quite to 450deg. Used Kingsford charcoal both times. I burned it at high the whole time and the hopper was pretty used up by about 45 mins. The burgers to me didn't have any smokey taste at all..nothing like burgers on my Kamado joe jr which is a different game altogether. I'm going to try BnB briquettes next time to see if they last longer. Not sure how to get more smokey flavor though..wood chunk? I'm also gonna try something more medium heat like a meatloaf to see if I get more flavor. What are your thoughts on my findings?
@@thegalleryBBQ so I did drumsticks last night and used BB briquettes and one chunk of pecan. Perfect smokey flavor this time. My only comment is I brought the temp to 375 on the lid thermometer and the drumsticks burnt just a little before I turned em. Gotta watch at temp because they are close to the heat. Good cook..just a learning curve
Get the rechargeable lithium AA batteries and a couple sets of those would last you no problem and definitively 2-3 sets for a family long weekend or even a week depending what your cooking
Ok, so when I show up at the stadium at 5am, will they let me in to set up this amazing grill???😂😂😂. I don’t want to miss the first pitch or kickoff! Fantastic machine!
Impressive!! That lil pit cranked it out, almost 8hrs on batteries is pretty darn good! The Pork butt was lookin mighty fine👍 thanks for sharing Tommy! Have a great one brother, you all stay safe!👍👊🍻🍺
Thank you for dedicating an entire day just for our benefit. Very helpful. I guess there is a chuck roast cook in our future as well. Certainly hope so. All the best. JT
Wow Tommy! Great test for those batteries!!! 7 hours and 45 minutes at 275 degrees is incredible! I'm wondering if you could have gone 9 or 10 hours at 225? But for a weekend cook out, 4 batteries would do the trick! And that Masterbuilt portable grill is pretty sweet! That #Reidea torch is cool too! Great demonstration!
Bro... If we were neighbors, we'd both be in trouble! You are a Wildman You burned some wood, think that contributed to ash? Was the bottom of the shoulder burned or close to it.. could you have moved it further away, toward the left side? Rotating the shoulder help maybe? Or even wrapping in foil...
Hi wild man Randy. I could have babied the shoulder for less slight burning on the bottom and sides. That said. A shoulder with loads of fat can handle any burning in this cook. The best option is go smaller! That said, I wanted to go BIG and push this sucker to the limit!!!! She did well!!
Great cook. I wonder if you could get 2 racks of ribs on there? Also try lithium AA batteries and the B&B competition char logs. I would love to see that. Cool #REIDEA torch.
The battery feature on this guy is awesome for portability. I'm curious how this would have went using lump charcoal. My guess is you would probably have to top up more often but wouldn't have to dump the ash. Or do you think the hopper is too small to use lump? Pulled port looked amazing by the way! 😋🔥🍻
Wow, I can't believe you were able to cook such a big butt on the portable! 4 AAs? Having that in case of a hurricane sounds like it might be a good idea, as that's most reasonable and its easy to stock AAs.
Not bad. Been trying to determine if I want this or asmoke. Good cook. It answered allot of questions I had. Do you think it would be beneficial to have two hoppers? One ready to go when needed. Great job Tommy. Thank you for informing us and doing the work. #Reidea
That pit gets better and better on each of your cooks then you show the battery operation and puts it through the roof this can go anywhere it’s gonna be hard to find something it can’t do cheers #REIDEA 🍺👊🔥
Great video! Trying to figure out how to tell my wife I need a new MB 3 weeks after buying my first!! Have you thought about rechargeable batteries? More for the initial investment, but definitely saves long term. #Reidea

Spritz...
Great video .. I think its to much work .. can u grill on it like a regular grill
Gotta me low and slow
Appears to have needed more time for sure. That bone was still quite sticky. But thats not what this pit is for. Not sure if this is the one for me. Might just have to keep waiting.
Thanks John. Yepper! I was to hungery to wait. lol Thanks for watching!
Great video!! I would have flipped that thing around and put the big end near the heat
Good idea! Ty...
Picked one up this morning, to bad we have severe stortms on the way. I am going to run some wings drizzled with alabama white sauce. Thank you for the video
Hope you enjoy
hello there, what mix do you use for your spritz? TIA
50/50 watter and apple juice

Nice Boston, Tommy. It’s inspiring me to do my first one of the year on the MB 1050!
Alden! Do it!!!!
they should have a port to connect a solar powered battery pack
For 200.00 without the table its a steal!

I'm about to get one of these I think. But I'm going to run it off a lithium 2 cell hobby battery so I can cook a brisket on one charge
