Thank you for posting this. I had a copy of the Pitt Inn gig on cassette in 1979, it was stolen from my car and this is the first time I've been able to hear it since then.
@@robbarronmusic Hi Rob! I'd be very keen to have the whole album, I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Would I be able to give you my email and you could send me a copy? All good if not, just thought I'd ask 👍
yes, yes, and yes again. i totaly agree! there are some other greats hh, cc, jz and be... can you guess who? but he was the most cooking one! technicaly overwhelming and elegant. with lots of fine co-musicians who challenged him to give even more than the best.
@reimundgerstner jz? Oh, Joe Zawinul you mean. But I totally agree Cedar is one of the absolute tops, frequently overlooked when ppl consider " all time greats " and I def consider in a league of his own. I am an aficionado especially of Jazz Piano and they generally break down into a few different schools and are great in their own way - there are the elegant players, the virtuosic players, the conceptually adventurous players, the soulful romantic players, and the hard swinging or funky bluesy roots-y players. Cedar presents his own unique combination of many of these aspects- perhaps not the outside the box thinker type but all the rest. He developed his own unique style and perfected it
What a beautiful rendition--Cedar's music was always amazing! He was a great husband/best friend too!
Cedar always swings hard and incorporates that Bluesy soulful feel. He epitomizes great Jazz piano for me.
I think I just refell in love with Music again!
