Has changed college basketball. It was always corrupt. Even a conservative (I know you love that) Supreme Court, noted the glaring hypocrisy of coaches and administrators making millions in this amateur division while players get nothing equitable to that. Pay them well or get left behind. Kentucky and Alabama football have always done that and will continue to do so. This milk and cookies era never existed. Good thing the charade is over.
My opinion is that some of this is getting back to Cal, especially last year. If it is on the KSR, it's not a big jump. The question is, why? I am not saying it was done for control over players, but it would be more likely Cal wouldn't want his players out if his reach. Missing meetings or practices, etc. Just a thought. Last...if Cal didn't know then who was the responsible parties. It just doesn't pass the smell test.
Even so nil isn’t the issue with uk they are still getting guys and great players.

I totally agree, and imho, one of the best sideline coach’s ever, and his 1st priority, was to win, his def, was stifling, and his fast pace off was second to none, I remeber in 96, championship game, Dick Vitale said “it’s really not fair for Syracuse in this game, they are playing both the number 1 team in country, Ky first 5, and the number 2 team Ky 2 string” he was good at developing his players

I thought under NCAA rules, or atleast last summer... no coaches or university employees could talk about NIL arrangements with players. This story doesnt add up. Why would NIL ever talk to a coach.

Could it be possible the staff didn’t want the players to get side tracked with money offers, and wanted them to stay focused on playing basketball? I kind of doubt it considering Cal WAS a big pusher for compensating players before it became a reality. Dont know, just thinking out loud.

Coaches can’t process the deals. Blame the NIL people, not the coaches. Mitch kept putting off making NIL a priority.
The fact is what this guy is saying sounds correct. My employer is a donor and he said some similar things. Long story short none of my memorabilia got signed . Also this team has been one of the hardest to interact with and it was directly because of some of the coaches. That being said I gotta think ullis for getting my sons ball signed.. and it was totally free???

Oakland had a great defensive plan, concentrated on stopping Reed Shepherd, shadowing him and never let him get open. That plus the unconscious guard at Oakland decided the game . We just need to start looking to next season with another hot shooter Travis Perry coming in. March Madness is what it is. We were still #2 in the hardest conference SEC. We achieved that with numerous injuries, many freshmen and a center blocked by NCAA for nearly 3 months.
SEC flopped in the tournament so nope. 4th best

Facts. Matt Jones has always been a poison to this fanbase. He is the biggest negative Nancy I've ever seen, even when Cal was making final four runs, and winning at a high level Matt Jones was always spreading negative gossip about the program.
I'm not a fan of Matt just for his personality, but you don't think he'd jump at an offer to have a rep. from UK come on his show and explain their take on it? He'd do that in an instant. Once Jones pissed Cal off with his critique of the 9-16 season, he was cut off from all UK connections as far as the basketball program went. Also, there was talk about discontent on the 2023 team about NIL from more places than just KSR.
That sounds like there needs to be a nil person needs hired to keep up with that stuff
