An estimated 46,000 people attended COP27. Every year, attendance keeps getting larger. More pledges, coalitions, task forces, and events are announced. Key stakeholders aim to outdo themselves and each other on their climate commitments.
But amidst all this talk, we need to stay focused on real indicators of progress:
📈 Even though landmark climate treaties and agreements have been signed over the past few decades, global emissions have not peaked
📈 Amidst discussions, we've crossed 6 out of 9 planetary boundaries
🌎 Let's not forget, and let's not let our leaders forget, what we're really working towards - a real focus on a just, truly sustainable planet for everyone.
