The u20 japanese team have two setter look like takashita and nakamichi, they are small but so powerful and smart in set. Yamada look like Araki,Marayama look like Ai Otomo, Nishikawa look like Saori Kimura, Soga look like Mai Yamaguchi, Ishikawa look like Saori Sakoda, Nakagawa look like Kano. Remind me the powerful Japanese team before.
And the coach looks like Doraemon. Just joking guys ✌️✌️✌️. I think they have a great chance to take the gold medal in this coming 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Give the open spikers slot to Kurogo,Ishii, EbatA, Nabeya and Ishikawa..
Only criticism with this Japanese team is they’re defense is very volatile, unlike the senior team whose players are very defense oriented, save for players like Ishii, Kurogo, etc. Unlike the senior team however, their offense is very good and their middle blockers are actually utilized well. Once Japan gets tall players who can play defense as they can now while having top-notch offense, they’re gonna be very hard to beat.

Wow....this is surprising. Not that I think Korea is better than Japan, but Korea has players on the court with more experience. To lose to a less experienced team on their home court is unimaginable. Korea wanted to host this event in hopes that they'd have home court advantage to win this tournament considering Korea has never won this title before. This is possibly the last tournament for Kim Yong Koong if Korea doesn't make it to the Olympics.

I came here after I watched the game of japan vs Korea in World Cup yesterday. I agree with you. The U20 beat the team korea in AVC but the senior team A of Hinotori Nippon can't. Even if Ishikawa Mayu played yesterday.
It is just like the new renaissance of Ebata, Saori Kimura, Shinabe, Yamaguchi, Ai Otomo, Inoue. Yamada and Hirayama is superb in blocking . Ishikawa is like Ebata. Nishikawa is like Saori Kimura. Soga is like Mix of Yamaguchi ( She can play like a middle but a Utility Spiker) and Shinabe ( Superb Defender at the back and superb spiker at the front ) . Nishikawa is like Saori Kimura but need more experience. Nippon 🥰❤️
Although Korean A team had such a big home advantage, they lost against japanese B team lol I'm really surprised to hear that japanese B team is all U20.
We think that all 4 teams are different in STILLNESS & CONCENTRATION.. We can consider each team in each match will be different in PERFORMANCE.. THAI : Senior & Young are recover more quickly KOREA : HOST is their hard pressure CHINA & JAPAN : too young cannot recover on time.. One thing you will know not fully performance for some type of performance..

I really want to see what our current lineup can bring since most Asian Teams except KOR, CHN & KAZ aren't that tall. And it's proven that the Philippines can push the usual AVC's 5th placer Kazakhstan to a 5-setter matches. We actually won atleast twice in our last 5 meetings with them. I really believe we can place as high as 5th or 4th and became the new darkhorse in Asian Volleyball. Imagine the power & height advantage if our org. just let them play S - Robins-Hardy 6'3" OH1 - Valdez 5'9" OH2 - Mau 6'1" MB1 - Santiago 6'5" MB2 - Santiago-Manabat 6'3" OP - Paat 5'11" L - Macandili 5'0"
ken P I'm also looking forward to SEA Games. We would love to witness Philippines beating and dominating Indonesia & Vietnam again. As well as making a comeback in the Gold Medal Match after 20+ years vs our former rivals Thailand, scaring them in a thrilling 5-setter match would be great but giving an upset would be monumental. Philippines can do more & someday we would make a comeback to int'l volleyball scene and I believe this upcoming SEA Games would be the start to the rise of the PHI.

Im hoping the senior's team will use yamada and the 188cm mb from the avc line up for the olympics n upcoming games. Having 17+cm for MB isnt gonna do anything great. Sometimes they can spike n block hard but what if your opponents spike higher? Like kyk in this game, she literally spike above their hands. Even tho Japan NT have ishii, iwasaka n kurogo who are 180+cm, but ishii n kurogo cant really block that well n kurogo only enter the game occasionally with miyashita (at 2019wc). Since yamada and that girl (the one i mention earlier) is now on the NT roster, im hoping to see changes. Okumura n akutagawa can block, but miraculously. And they are too short to be MB.

Quite suprise these girls beat the Team A of Korea and gosh what a painful bliss for Kim, she didn't carry the team lol. These young japanese girls should have played the VNL, they must have slayed or rather get an exposure and spotlight not just in the VNL. And plus they got a big future ahead. I just do hope Japan Senior Women's Volleyball acquire good coach, say Yuko Sano or Yoshie Takeshita or either Saori Kimura. Soga also looks like Risa Shinnabe, she's very good at hitting the opposite and has great defense too.

ken P True! A wasted chance to compete for AVC Cup 2020 & Olympic Qualifying Tournament. I really want to see what our current lineup can bring since most Asian Teams except KOR, CHN & KAZ aren't that tall.
And it's proven that the Philippines can push the usual AVC's 5th placer Kazakhstan to a 5-setter matches. We actually won atleast twice in our last 5 meetings with them. I really believe we can place as high as 5th or 4th and became the new darkhorse in Asian Volleyball.

ken P I'm also looking forward to SEA Games. We would love to witness Philippines beating and dominating Indonesia & Vietnam again. As well as making a comeback in the Gold Medal Match after 20+ years vs our former rivals Thailand, scaring them in a thrilling 5-setter match would be great but giving an upset would be monumental.
Philippines can do more & someday we would make a comeback to int'l volleyball scene and I believe this upcoming SEA Games would be the start to the rise of the PHI.

Im hoping the senior's team will use yamada and the 188cm mb from the avc line up for the olympics n upcoming games. Having 17+cm for MB isnt gonna do anything great. Sometimes they can spike n block hard but what if your opponents spike higher? Like kyk in this game, she literally spike above their hands.
Even tho Japan NT have ishii, iwasaka n kurogo who are 180+cm, but ishii n kurogo cant really block that well n kurogo only enter the game occasionally with miyashita (at 2019wc). Since yamada and that girl (the one i mention earlier) is now on the NT roster, im hoping to see changes. Okumura n akutagawa can block, but miraculously. And they are too short to be MB.
i love Japanese better, but where are the key players now especially jersey no.17? and some of middle hitters as well? is this the team B of Japan?

@Pig Hunter they still lost games while she was subbed in but sure she was a backup anyway my point was that the current japanese roster is better than the 2019 one so I'm not sure if korea would be able to win this time

Quite suprise these girls beat the Team A of Korea and gosh what a painful bliss for Kim, she didn't carry the team lol. These young japanese girls should have played the VNL, they must have slayed or rather get an exposure and spotlight not just in the VNL. And plus they got a big future ahead. I just do hope Japan Senior Women's Volleyball acquire good coach, say Yuko Sano or Yoshie Takeshita or either Saori Kimura. For they got the strategics and talks unlike Nakada she barely speak and just stand and let the others do the talking.
