    I ditched using garter belt with my new Bauer Vapor X knee guards and reverted back to the tape method you show here. If you use hockey socks and tape above the knee guard and below they won't move. The Bauer Vapor X anchor strapping system works really well to keep the knee pads in place and I just feel using the tape keeps your socks up and provides insurance from having your pads move around. I also like using socks because as you mention, it helps provide smoother rotation and avoids any hang ups of the knee pad getting caught in the knee block area. Thanks for doing this video.

    I took plastic buckles, sewed them with an inch long strap onto the knee pads, then got some long velcro loops (similar to what you use to hold electrical cables together, but longer) and just looped them from the buckles and the inner belt on my pants. The buckles let me remove the knee guards from the pants, and the velcro loops let me adjust the exact position that I want my knee pads to stay at.

    Hey I know this is an extremely late comment and that you might not see this but I was just wondering what kind of pants you wear under your knee pads?

      I wear standard athletic base layers. Ranging from Adidas, Nike, to Saxx.

    Been battling with this with my Warrior Rituals due to my size. My fat legs don't fit them worth a damn.

    I know I’m extremely late to this video, but where may I find the garter belt to attach not to the socks, but to the knee pads themselves? I have a lot of trouble with them sliding now and I need something other than socks to hold them up.

      So, the Bauer specific ones are available but are hard to find. I found intermediate ones here: www.goaliemonkey.com/accessories/knee-thigh-guards/bauer-goalie-accessories-garter-belt-goalie.html
      and also CCM ones here:
      www.goaliemonkey.com/accessories/knee-thigh-guards/ccm-goalie-accessories-knee-pad-garter-belt-sr.html
      I am not sure if either of those would work with your knee pads. But you could sew a loop into the binding of the knee pads to attach with these garters.

      I’m kinda late to the party too but with regular player garter, do you use the rear clips of the garter or just the front ? You just have them hanging ?

      @HockeyReviews  3 роки тому +2

      @@goaler39 I use the rear clips as well, but generally 2 clips aren't necessary.

    Hey Matt, is there a garter to attach the Warrior knee pads with the leather tabs. My pants don't have the tab in them to lace.

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  5 років тому

      I don't believe a garter will attach to those tabs. But I've seen people use string to make a makeshift tab by going through the tab already there so a normal garter belt will work

    Wouldnt shin tights work?

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  5 років тому

      Possibly, but then that is another layer? I've never worn shin tights though so not sure.

    Would the garter belts connect directly to the fabric tabs on the knee pads? We tried socks/tape (no garter yet) and the knee pads still fell down.

      @@HockeyReviews My daughter's goalie knee pads have two fabric tabs on the top of them. Could the type of garter belts shown in the video (usually used for socks) be used to hold the knee pads in place by attaching directly to the knee pads at the fabric tabs?

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Рік тому

      @@cwilsonmusic19 So, those tabs aren't make to work with a sock garter clip. But you can try it and see if it works. Those tabs are made for a Vaughn style of garter belt.

    My 08’ wears Warrior knee guards. He uses a shoes lace and laces it through the tab on the knee guard and ties it around his jock at the top. He has chicken legs 😂.

    I just overheat like a sob. It helps not to have socks. I just use a garter belt.

    • @HockeyReviews

      I find without socks the straps and shells get caught on things. I overheat a tonne too but just found a bunch of decent base layers to help deal with it.
