Purchased this pedal based on the review. Love mine, but notice that on the Blackface side, I get almost zero drive in the high headroom setting with gain maxed (just louder lol). But with the low headroom setting and gain at around 2, I get a great Hendrix-y vibe. Personally love the TS side. Not sure why people are so down on it. I own a bunch of TS variants and og TS-808s, TS-9, etc, so if I just want to get a pure TS tone I'll grab one of those, but the point of this pedal (for me anyway) is to be able to slap it on a board with my LEX a, a Wah, a Vibe, and a fuzz face so I can kind of cover the whole Hendrix-SRV gamut without tap-dancing. For that, it's fantastic. And the "mods" make this TS extra useful, especially that extra gain!
New to the channel. Wanted to say thank you for how thoroughly you went over the pedal for starters. It wasn't rushed. You explained why you made the adjustments you did as well as clarifying when it was for your preference or rather to achieve certain goals. Your playing was definitely an enjoyable accompaniment as well. I subbed for all these reasons. I would like if possible a little more of a wrap up pros and cons kind of personal feelings at the finale however I, like you seemed to, didn't see much to 'con' so to speak with this one. It really does seem to deliver exactly as it means to. Although I've owned and played through many amps in my years, I solely go to Fender amps if I have to choose these days and it did well orchestrating that vibe. As for the other side, I can't complain there either. It was a very pleasant surprise to see the effects loop jacks included too. They really put thought into this pedal. Again, thank you for the great content. I'll be looking forward to more. 🙏🤘🙏
Great demo and very competitively priced for the great dynamics of both sides. In all demos I have heard, I am going to bet it can't really get the clean boost of the Vertex SSS so that clean Dumble tone Stevie recorded with, will remain w/ Gladio, Vertex, J. Rockett, and a couple others. The right sounds great too and really get it spot on with the left side of the Keeley Aria, which is the Keeley Red Dirt. However, I thought The Duellist by King Tone had the complete "SRV in a box" nailed. It's great but this Crossfire really brings more dynamics and tonals options to the table in my opinion and "out-dueling" The Duellist!
I have a hard time tonally understanding the differences in the Fender amps. Are there any good videos on the range of Fender amps? "Skosh" Yes! That one needs a comeback!
Hey Shawn great job again. Usually in your pedal demos your sound still comes through but this set up sounded totally different than your normal. I’m curious how much you tweaked your amps from normal for this tone Is it all really coming from the pedal? I’m still watching so sorry if you’re about to answer this.
@@ShawnTubbs That is what I guessed. The dynamic of your playing really is quite fantastic so any difference can be heard with different equipment. Like those we have considered "guitar greats", you also have your own sound and my ears can pick you out from many others on youtube. Excellent work!!!
If you have an amp that can't go completely clean and more british in tone character, would you go for this or get a dedicated BF preamp like the effectrode Blackbird or Kingsley Maiden? Great video and playing dude!
Shawn, There are a lot of videos featuring this pedal, and I found myself listening to your review a few times, before pulling the trigger on this pedal. I've had it for a few weeks, and while I absolutely love the blackface side,I just don't care for the tube screamer side. Because of this,I can't justify keeping it on my board. I know you've tried a few other "Blackface" type pedals, and curious if there was one that you could recommend, that gets close to the left side of this pedal? Appreciate your time, and always look forward to your videos!
Love your demo videos as always! I’ve watched a majority of these demo videos, but haven’t come across the demo with “Road to Georgia” or “Spring Hill Shuffle”. Just curious if anyone knows what demo those two are from? Some of my favorite tones and would love to see the gear used!
Being from Austin, I can say whoever makes this pedal should just setup shop on 6th street. I can’t even begin to tell you how many losers want to be SRV here. Lol. It’s super sad honestly.
🤔🤣😂😅I don't really hear the true SRV tone and sound in all those knobs👀🥱😳😵💫 ! Like you really can in a old two👀😉🤗 knobs Texas ranger or a new Pedal pwn Texas twang pedal 🎸😉👍.
Meh. Seems like an unnecessary pedal. I've played better blackface in a boxes and there are already enough different tube screamer clone/modified clone models to give every person that's played guitar for more than 6 months one, and for the combined sales of them you could give 1 to every person that's ever lived since the collapse of the late bronze age.
I was rather impressed with the "amp" side of the pedal because instead of going after the pushed or overdriven blackface fender tone, which tends to be the go-to approach for most pedals, it was actually based on a clean application that could be pushed into overdrive. It's to each his or her own for sure. Thanks for watching and for chiming in Tim.
Shawn, dude I can listen to you play all day long. Killer playing as always and great sounding pedal. Cheers.
I haven't been able to check out the pedal yet because I keep replaying the first 1:45 minutes of your playing. Love your style Shawn.
Your phrasing is so outside the blues box. Incredible is an understatement. Bravo.
Absolutely killing, as always!
Great! The first seconds allone made my day! And your playing is superb as allways.
Great intro track! Amazing soloing, especially on the Collings! Pedal sounds just right.
Great tune in the vein of SRV but with your incredible twist , nicely done!
Love the style of Mr Tubbs playing. Much more musical than the super technical shredders.
Thanks very much.
That collings guitar is liquid hot MAGMAAA! Fantastic playing of course. Rock on

That opening was like the Vaughan Brothers,,,Great job Shawn👍👍
WOW WOW WOW,,,,Beautiful sounds

Stone cold! That was a fantastic demo Shawn, some great tones in that box, kudos to CTC on another winner.

Right off the bat I liked the clarity that doesn't have that kind of transitory fizzy sound that most overdrives have .
Excellent. I hope to try one of these. Seems like an instant kit for SRV and fender blues tones. If get it tied with some lush verbs.
Love the hairstyle and new look….plus of course the review. Pedal sounds really nice. Always great listening to you!!
Thanks so much, Glenn!
I did an amazing solo line dance to the opening song. If I hadn’t just pounded back a bottle of JD I’d post online to prove it.
Haha!
Great tone, great playing...just great!

you are a terrific guitar player!!
Does more then the 2 tube screamer tone, Sounds-Great!
Just ordered one can’t wait thank you for a cool demonstration
That intro was da bomb!
Fantastic playing Shawn, love it
...great sound ...great playing
Sweet Video Shawn, def that SRV tone! Love your Channel Bro!
Thanks very much!
Nice work Shawn!
Sounds incredible!!!
Awesome! Love it!
Killer playing as usual. CTC builds awesome pedals.
Great sound ! 👍
great sound , great playing
OMG!!!!! THATS BEAUTIMOUS
Great job buddy!
Another Amazingly Awesome video Shawn

I would have to guess neutral as, playing styles aside, the tones from this demo ran consistent with demos on 4 other channels.
I try to dial the amp as unadorned as possible and make the pedal do all of the work.

I gotta learn that little fusiony line that you slip in there

I think this pedal comes really close to the BF tone.

Road to Georgia is the Vertex T drive. Spring Hill Shuffle is the John McGuire Strat demo.
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this! Love your playing!
Great stuff :D
What's up dude! Sounds so chewy!!
My dude… 🔥
Oooooooooh stop it Shawn Tubbs!!!
Shawn, what gage are your fifth and sixth strings?
I pretty much use 10-46 anymore.
@@ShawnTubbs Thanks!
You and RJ release the same video at the same time lol
Hey Shawn what was that kick starting @: 12:00-12:05?
It's really just a pentatonic thing at the 12th fret.
@@ShawnTubbs 👍
Could you do a demo on a Zendrive overdrive?
I used to have one a long time ago.
Can you compare it with cornerstone gladio sc~😀
The Gladio SC is a great pedal but it's considerably different.
great playing, bass guitar too high in this mix thx!!
I’ll let the bass player know. He won’t give a rip but I’ll mention it..
You're a fantastic guitarist. Regarding the Blackface and TS thang... no, thank you. There are just still too many people trying to do the SRV thing.
Shawn is that a Levi's Denim Shirt?
I think I got that shirt at H & M a long time ago.
Dear Shawn, are you promoting your account on telegram or someone is spamming as you ???
What is the price in US dollars?
I think it's $219.00. crazytubecircuits.com/crossfire
@@ShawnTubbs Thanks Shawn.

Excellent 🙏
