    In my home, this recipe always has been made by caramelising the jackfruit. But after my mother saw your recipe in Dhe Ruchi, she started making it this way. Your recipe changed the habit of lifetime.

    Hii..i tried several times..but it never came out wel. When I followed ur recipe especially with “puttu podi” ; icame out superb.yummy and soft kumbilappam.

    Instead of puttupodi it is better to use rava so that the appam will be more softer.

      Use banana/ plantain leaves This won’t give this much taste but can manage

      Yes Boban John is right. You can use banana leaf but will not get same flavour.
      Incase if you get fresh leaves, clingwrap and store it in the freezer for later use. I store it for months

    If the batter is loose, you can't keep it upside down.

      Batter won’t be loose. After you rest the batter, it will be thick enough as in the video
