I'm running that same amp. Love it. I like the new test bench Steve. Kudos. Keep up the good work man.
Had this amp a few years back . Performed well. Can't go wrong with RF !
One hell of an amp for sure. Great test Steve
Yo Meade.....I gotta say......you are the Real Deal! I'm an ol' school Fosgate head from back in the day......like.....Mosfet Power 300 and 650 ol' school. Not only can I appreciate your allegiance to the RF brand....because it PERFORMS....but like Big D Wiz, you are objective.....you represent everything that is pure about being a "Big Bang Stereo Enthusiast"! Keep up the good work......one Leo to another! JMc from Dallas!
Oh God i love amp test Tuesdays!!
sweet look forward to amp test Tuesdays
Thanks man for that Great AMP test. Rockford Fosgate Amps kicks ass!!
Big jump from 12 to 14 wow on the 14 v im impressed,,,,,great info video steve!!!!
man I love these videos alot your the reason why I'm getting the cab 1600.1
Hey Steve awsome products, such smart designs. great videos .
Yes sir I agree. The lows at the beginning are a beast. I have 2 l7 15 and those last 2 lows sound beautiful
Rockford fosgate always seems to test higher than rated especially old school fosgate
RockFord amps is all I use because I don't have time to be going back and replacing blown amps. I don't do a ton of installs anymore but installed a Power T-500 and punch 400.4 several years ago with no issues recently put this in another Hummer. And I've installed a total of 14 amps in 3 limo's for another customer. 2 amps in the small limo /5 amps in the medium sized limo and 7 amps in the new limo. No issues other than some blown speakers and they play @ high volume all night long.
Very nice Steve
Great video your THE MAN STEVE, hopefully one day I get a chance to meet you this video made my day even better knowing that I bought 3 of these amps yesterday and today I have the 3 RFT8004, the T20001bd, the t30001bd now I need the T40001bd, these amps are Real amps, thanks for all of your Videos, and whats great about these is that your a very humble guy........
510 The Bay Area man yeeeeeere
Almost 1400watts, I have found a new fav channel.
Love these Steve. You're awesome
This is a great example of how low voltage effects and amp and clipping. I bet that amp only put out less on lower voltage was due to clipping. I wanted to do this test myself but didnt have the equipment, great vid.
I'm looking forward to see a new one every tuesday
I sold Pyramid car stereo and PPI back in the mid 90's at a shop in Phoenix. The heat sink on the Pyramid was 20x bigger than the PPI so people wanted to buy them. They weren't so happy a month later when the Pyramid was broken, woofers blown and it never got as loud as the system in my car with a PPI A600 and a pair of 10's. :)
my dad still uses his punch 150's and they still work great
I've owned two T4k's and BOTH of them blew some MOSFETS on both amps. Everything was correctly installed, but I just didn't have any luck with them. I've owned AQ amps, DC, and even a Sundown with no problems and the same wiring. I still love me some RF products though. I'm running 3 T400.4's still for mids and highs. Amp Porn!!!!
Mr. Meade changin the game.
when you actually install this into a car, you will set the gains according to what they are being used for. If you need all the channels to output the exact same amount of power, for a set of woofers for example, you would gain match the front and rears. This test shows how much power the channels are capable of, but there will always be small differences between channels on any brand of amp (before gain matching).
meade916 just a noob question but the first test was bridged to 2 channels right and the 2nd channel put out almost 100 more watts then channel 1 is that a sign of an issue with the amp ? And if you can run subs on this amp would it cause an issue because one sub seeing that much less power ? It seems like they would be battling each other and not moving in sequence but i don’t even know if this amp can run subs or just for door speakers sorry if it’s a dumb question it had me wondering. I have a t15004 and a t8002 both mint I plan to use on my first real build they are beasts !!!
T800-4ad we would love to see this one plz. Thanks for the info u provide to us. Your awsome man....
i had 1 of these amps and those things work hard. had it on 2 L7 and RF 12s
I'm really feeling the old sckool e40 in the background
T3002 is a nice one as well for dynamic power
keep them comming. nice vid.
thanks!
because Rockford amps are underrated. Please don't complain. The last amp i tested had 1200 watts on the top of it and did 199. LOL....
And this is why i buy RF amps. May be expensive, but when they're putting out sometimes double what other equally rated amps put out, it's worth it.
My little 300-1 is meant to put out 300w, the sheet included with it says it'll do 430wrms+ @ 14.4v w/2ohm, and i believe it.
Another great test Steve, I love seeing these but they also make me wonder if my 2004 Kicker KX 450.2 and 400.1 are putting out anywhere close to what they should.
Love the amp test even though I have no idea what's going on.
Agreed. We just want to know how many watts RMS each of the (4) channels puts out.
jx1000/1D from JL audio would be an interesting amp test. great video!
my brother has one in his jetta hooked up to two orion xtr 124s that shit pounds!! I built a custom box for them too hits 133db on the meter. tuned at 35hz bc we like listening to music too.
planet audio is a great brand.
I had one of those amps for about a year and never hooked it up and sold it about 3 months ago. Been crying about it ever since
I actually sold one to P. Stone and the other I sold to my cousin. But they were purchased from a authorized dealer. I have two D3100's in the back and a D6500 up in the front with a DC 270xp alt. Power is good. I still enjoy me a good RF product :) I'll never blame THEM because like you said, shit does happen. I'm just waiting to see what they're gonna drop next as far as amps go!!!! :O whoooooooooo!!!!!!
love the test some of us want to see the new hcca orion amps too...lol
i like the sounds of amp test tuesday :-)
From what I see and hear RF are very good amps, but I have a dilemma. I bought a car from the local police auction and when I opened the trunk it was missing the woofers in the custom made box,so I removed the the very well built enclosure only to find 1-4000.1..1-2000.1 1-800.4 all on back deck..I took the three amps to a local stereo store and the 4000.1 doesn't work. So my dilemma is is it worth fixing and who can do the work..I really like your dedication to stereo atmosphere and keep up the good work
E-40 & The Click playing in the background....A Classic :)
Cranking..... That is a mental amp... Well done Steve.
You need to do the 4000!!
Amp test Tuesday...SM has done it again...seen ya on that OAOS nice!...did that glass cut you??? Lol
I used to have the t1600 in my truck. No wonder it always blew out my boston components!
yes, the 2006/2007 series 10001bd. i have running that beast with a rfr3115 @1ohm :)
I'd be curious to see more of these videos. We have a few nice rockfords tested. A boss that wasn't so bossy. Something in the middle would be interesting. Like a sony, mb quart, kicker.
I know this amp is only rated at 50w @4ohm per channel, you think she will do over a Hundred?
Have you tested a t1001bd amp and if so how can I find it on UA-cam thanks
hey steve i was wondering. I see you do the amp tests. Is there anyway you can test one of them power acoustic MOFO 15 inch subs to see how much punishment it would actually take? thanx man. Love the vids and your one hell of a builder. keep it up
Not really relevant to this video, but...
I just got my DD-1 in the mail today, and just finished setting gains and so on. :) It worked great!! Very pleased with this device! :D *Thumbs Up*
Hey Steve. Been watching your videos for a while now, and its great stuff. I was wondering if you have ever thought of testing DJ amps on your dyno. Im thinking about getting a Rockville RPA5 500 watt amp for my DJ system, and wondering if it do what it says it do.
Hey I love my T4000 surf board!
Steve, wondering if there's a video you can do explaining your background and past with regards to this industry. I sub'd to you a year or two ago because I was intrigued by some sort of box you were building using only magnets. It's a year later and I found myself back at your channel wishing you'd produce more videos :) I'd love to learn more about the shop! I'm local, here in Folsom!
All I am going to say is; I ran this amp on two SMD 18's and it had them doing some work!
(Aww the really broke school days haha)
I have one, beautiful amp
I miss my old 04 model t800.2 from back then. that thing slammed my hx2 12's. would love to see you test that model. my birth sheet said 1340 watts.
Damn the amp dyno has been out for 5 year already lol but for real this was a big plus for car audio A simple test that shows clear as day what companies are bs and overrate their amps and helps people like me that are just getting into car audio find a amp that puts out what it says it does or close to at least so we don’t buy something and hope its doing rated power and think it’s legit because of that bs CEA-2006 compliant logo lmao
I'm super happy my buddy bought one of your Dd1's so I'll know for sure all my amps will be tuned without any distortion cause my last big system with my 6 15 in JL W6's and my precision power Pc 2350's I kept hitting my clipping points and that shit alone will drive your ass insane trying to find that perfect gain sets till I just would turn it to around 3/4 of the way and just said fuck it and walked away lol what was super nuts was my amp put out 1400 @ 4ohm bridged but when we checked the out put it was only 5.5 ohms and if I tried to add another sub or two it would take it down so low it would cut off cause it wasn't stable to that ohm load that was something that had me puzzled for years have u ever had a problem like that before it was like either the sub ohms wasn't correct or the amp wasn't reading it correctly but when I took the W6's out and put the 8 15 in JL W0's 8 ohms it worked out fine as far as the ohm load. Went and I got a real serious question can u take a duel voice coil sub and run matching amps and wire one voice coil to 1 amp and the other voice coil to another amp and if need be maybe put it on some kinda gain splitter splitter to where your getting the same exact amount of watts through both amps to 1 single sub ??
Thats bad ass! RF does work! O and i luv that test bench, its muti use for car audio testing or use for back yard kick backs"
Yee!

Steve Meade's new line of amp testers. Hear the rainbow, baby.
Good shyt Meade
Awesome shit love RF equipment ,wish you would test that soundstream 2600 tarantula see what she can do!
Thats awesome.....you going to be testing an amp on a weekly basis or something? That would be pretty sweet, like all your videos. Really like watching this. Would like to know what some of the cheaper amps actually put out. I have a hifonics 1400 gladiator. Would be curious to see what it actually puts out with proper electrical. Nice video, steve.
Steve i would love to see you test one crescendos bass clef series amps. I own a BC2000d and love it, considering there great price, i am curious as to if they are putting out rated power or more or less.
This amp is rated by Rockford at 50x4 RMS at 4 ohms.
So what is it really putting out at RMS/per channel at 4 ohms?
good job. could you do a test on audiobahn or kenwood excelon?
Hey man amazing work! Keep it up but I have a Kenwood KAC-7205 1,000 watt amp. I was wondering if sometimes soon you could dyno it, cause im very interested what the true ratings are for it, and if it'll really pump out 1,000 watts.
Hey meade916 love the show and been watching for years. Was wondering if you could get your hands on a crescendo bc3500d for amp test Tuesday and see what she could do at .5 ohm.
Hey Steve u know where I can get the cover for those amp I got the same and missing the cover or does anyone know???
sure. I don't have any on hand, but if i get one i will.
Just sub'd to your channel dig'n your knowledge and work, great vids too.
be cool see u do some of these 10,000 watt amps or bigger that r out see if they do rated power
Steve would this amp be ok to run on a d2 sub I think wired down to .80 before box rise or is that to low
im not a pro but only amps I be looking at are Kenwood, alpine, kicker, JL, infinity, JL audio, mtx, RE audio sound stream, DC, and as we all know Rockford fosgate. theres a lot out there but form what I seen in person I be leave the ones I listed are great to put money into for your sound audio depending on your budget.
Can you test the amp cerwin vega brand ? And thanks for making awesome vids
Hey steve i have t800.2 do you have an idea where i could get the cover plate from been looking for 1 for years!
Would big Juan test my current system on the amp dyno here in tempe and what would it cost ? Saving for the imsg have the cc1 that I bought from bryan at ms
Hey Steve. Would you mind testing an MB Quart ONX1.1000 at 1 ohm @12.5 volts please?
BTW. Watched all the '72 build, and that was ridiculous how much you improved that car. Well done.
Yo steve, if u get around to it, do a amp test on a Re Audio XTX5000.1 I'd like to see the numbers.
I miss rockfords old design
yesssir.
kinda having trouble wrapping my mind around the disparity in power level between channels....what is that difference in the real world steve? thx bro
hey Steve just wondering if you wouldn't mind checking out a couple of more mainstream apps such as the Alpine mrv 1507 or the TMA 1000.1 or even the JL Audio 1000/1 V2 as I am very curious to see what these people do and I've had them since brand new and I don't know what they will do
hey steve wish amp you recomend on 4 8" crescendo pwx 8,the are 200 watts rms, help please, thanks
Can you do the new brutus line steve? That would be cool to see how true they are
Steve, test the JBL amp you did a while back (Built in gain leveling VS you DD1).
Can you test any of the hifonics amps? A lot of people are making a fus about them and I don't know whether to trust them.
Id be cool if you could test some old Mtx Road Thunder amps....i have an old thunder 2160....she seems pretty beefy
I own a Hifonics GLX60.4 but it is my first 4 channel amp so i have nothing to compare it to, I want to know if they make the power they claim.
i would love to see my t 1000.1 on that dyno to see actual power out of curiosity
Thank you
Steve, you should test the t2500-bdcp
So why is their quite a big difference on the channels output? Like ch1 vs ch2 on the same test run?
I would like to see a vm audio 5400.1 on the dyno!!
Love your videos!!!! Do you have a rough estimate of the true rms wattage that the power acoustic ovn 1 5500 puts out?
I'm curious to see how Hifonics and Kicker amps perform
Steve maybe by chance could you one day test one of the sound storm ev series amps I got three they seem great but would just wonder if it gets the power it says
I think the model number of this amp is T8004 (without the dot) and they are from 2005/6 time frame. I had a T4004 once and it was rated at 25x4, but actually did over 100x4 at 4 ohms. Man, I have a TON of old school amps and the Amp Dyno would make my testing SO much easier! Really enjoy the tests man, keep them comin'!!
Is it possible that you could get the t8004 and dyno that amp? I just got one the other day for free and I know it's not doing 50 per channel.
Haha
