Linkin Park is a sad story of sad circumstances. But we have those crazy grandpa The Scorpions who are playing speedmetal music to this very day. Even the guys of Metallica are shocked. Fact that the Scorpions initially graduated from hard rock to then on become speedmetal music junkies.
Grandpa The Scorpions are as irritating as ever... like that nutty character "Scorpio Milo" in some kiddy anime TV series of the nutty 1980s decade time period: "Scarlet Needle Antares". Hard metal but with "speedmetal flavour". We don't like war but we utterly hate Communists because Communism is fake democracy. And the only way to mock those war mongering Communists is to sing "Hit Between The Eyes"... Am ready for the hit between the eyes, can't you see I am much too young to die? We hate Communists. We are going to keep mocking Communists.
      I HATE Communism.
Wind Of Change... the USSR is no more.

There’s a double entendre to the song. When he says “I’m only a crack in this castle of glass” he saying he’s just one little fracture in a giant castle of glass, but all it takes is a crack to bring a castle of glass down. That’s why it shatters in the video

I dont think "limited range" is fair to say, have you heard "No Roads Left"? He showcases a mucchhh wider range than how he normally sings, and he doesnt sing low because thats all he can do, he sings low because it always fits with the songs. According to Bennington, the song’s lyrics could also be about a person trying hard to find his or her place in society against all odds. He went on to give classic examples of such situations. And one such example was a person who has just been released from prison and trying hard to fit normally into society. Another example was a soldier who has just returned home from war trying his best to fit into society once again and live a normal life.
That, according to Bennington was Shinoda’s interpretation of the lyrics. But for him (Bennington), his interpretation of the lyrics differed. According to him, the lyrics made him think of himself as being the broken or damaged piece of a beautiful glass castle. And while he may seem as the useless part of the glass castle, if one were to look closer, they’d notice that he is still very useful and an important part of a very beautiful entity, whose absence would make the beautiful entity incomplete.

I'm pretty sure that at the end, the gentleman telling the girl about her father's passing is actually the little boy, and he seems to handle it differently then the guy telling him about his father. Also he gives the little girl this sad knowing "smile" when he gets down on her level. I love this song, it can be so versatile for individual's situations.

When a soldier knocks on Your door like that- it’s never a good thing. It means you lost someone.
As a military wife and daughter and know things work this day and age....DAYMN!!! you can’t go from Private to Officer anymore without going to college and even then because of your time in the military you would still skip the lower ranks at least. I’ve seen the soldiers come in uniform to my neighbors houses- while my husband was deployed it’s really hard. It’s really tough. But someone has to do it.

His pop pop would have been in WW1 or WW2. Soldiers back then could definitely do that. If enough of your unit died, you stepped up and did what had to be done, and did it well, you'd get battlefield promoted. Back then you could get battlefield promoted from enlisted to officer. Nowadays, you are completely correct. You have to go to school to make the switch, but you only skip rank if you go into medical.

@Matt Stanford, it is, especially during Vietnam! My dad was in Korea and made Staff Sgt., but, it was during a 'police action' so when he died suddenly, in 1978, age 45, all my mom got was a wrapped up flag!
June 30th of this hellscape year, my stepdad died. He had been a navy man and once more, my mom got another damned folded up flag.
And today, my son in law is "in country" and... bounties.

Maggie Rezac Sorry for your losses.
I’m not sure how much stock I put in the “bounties” thing. If you think about it, just by being over there and wearing the uniform is enough for the insurgents. But if your SIL’s battle buddies are anything like mine were, he’s in good hands. Few bonds are stronger than brothers- and sisters-in-arms’ bonds.

What do you mean E-1 to O-6? Both characters in their Navy Dress Uniforms are Enlisted. The first one, the one who talks to the boy, is definitely an E-9 of some variety. The second one, the boy when he's grown up, is also enlisted, probably also an E-9 due to budgets/costume simplicity but you can't actually see it.

"Castle of Glass" and "Lost in the Echo" are my 2 favorite LP songs of all time. They are so phenomenally written and are so underrated it's insane.
/edit Oh, and they "Based on a true story" bit. This was written for the Medal of Honor (2010) follow up Medal of Honor: Warfighter game which those games were based on actual events from soldier who served recently. There are some really amazing docuvids on UA-cam about them too. The games, music, storytelling...everything about them made them my favorite FPS of the 2010 decade.

And I'll admit that I'm embarrassed, and I'll apologize for my bad attitude. I do want to say in my defense, that I was led astray by a poor choice of words in your reply to my comment, Alex. When I requested you react to "Break In" that if instead of saying "You got it! Good suggestion!" I'd like to suggest that you might have said something like "I'll put it on my list" If you had said something like that I probably wouldn't have expected a more rapid response to my request. I hadn't really thought of how many requests you might already have waiting. I DO think that (when you can get to it) you will really enjoy the harmony between Lzzy and Amy. The video for "Break In" could also be titled "Lzzy and Amy burn down the studio" It's an amazing video, and well worth a review.
