Is there a way to connect the original Mercedes Benz microphone from the car to the unit using a 3.5mm plug? I believe the Mercedes Benz microphone wiring is already there.
If you have a clock in the cluster you have to tell the cluster that a non navigation radio has been installed and then the settings apear on the cluster. In many Mercedes this happens automatically when the radio is removed. I don't remember on this car. BUt havent had a customer complain about it yet so I Assume it does it automatically.
I have the 1 din sony xav-ax8150 in my other car, what if i replace the stock audio NTG2.0 out of my ML2006 and replace that with a 2-to-1 radio adapter, place the sony xav-ax8150 in the upper or lower part of the adapter and the little storage tray in de lower or upper part of the adapter, the screen wil stick out a good inch or so and the 'storage' behind the radio is a simple but not for every day 'extra' I think it might even look a little bit better, still wondering thoug
@@Enfig I have a USB stick which adds the wireless (android+iphone), works flawless It perfectly fits in the USB slot behind the screen, does not show, it's install & forget. In retrospective, i have the XAV-AX8050 , not the 8150 (which has mini hdmi i think?) Kenwood also has a beautiful model, but way over my limited budget.
I like the function of Sony interface but there are so many other ones that have a better shape and fit than Sony. Which they adapted like those other companies.
The problem is that to make a radio as reliable as the Sony would be too much money and customers will not pay for it. Kenwood has tried it with VW (kenwood DNX719VHD). This is the reason you only see cheaper android radios doing this. The sacrifice reliability to bring the price down.
I like that the mic in installed on the kit.
Did the car its self have the headphone jack for the steering wheel control or did you have to attach an adapter to place it on the back of the radio?

I've never tried. Usually in a mercedes its up by the mirror. I usually break the mic that comes with the radio and put it in the factory location.
where did you get the harness adapters from?
We sell them
Do you have a instrument cluster dash clock? If so, does it work and can you set the time? The original command radio was used to se the time

Thank you so much for the reply. I’ll try pulling my radio and see if the option appears on the instrument panel before I purchase.
Excellent video as well!
great tutorial, is there a video showing how to get the stuck CDs out?
Sorry we never did that one. It came out too dark so we scrapped it.

The big screen will look good. But Pioneer has a similar model that has wireless carplay.
