- Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents The Greatest Show On Earth. The most famous circus is back after shutting down for years. They have removed all animal acts from the show. You'll also notice they no longer have a ringmaster or live band, and the "clowns" no longer wear makeup. Do you like this reimagining of the show?

I just came back from taking my kids to Circus Krone in Munich Germany so they could experience a real circus with animals. Got to tell you it was the best performance of my lifetime including the old Ringling Brothers.

The only animals you will see in this circus is a robot dog unicorns dragons and people in tiger costumes.
Yeah that's the only thing that's missing here. I like the woman singing and everything, she has a great voice. But the only thing that's missing here is Johnathan Lee Iverson. Gosh I wish we could see him back here.

Unfortunately this feels like the light version of Cirque du soleil. I wouldn't try so hard. The robot dog is just sad. I used to go to the circus to see the Ringmaster, the showmanship, the trapeze, the animals... not a goofy show with people hula hooping on someones shoulders, fake animals and poorly synchronized group dances. Too bad kids won't be able to experience anything new these days, they have seen it all on the internet. When we went to the circus and saw the fat man, the bearded woman, things like that, it was all new and exciting for us. The Ringmaster held everyones attention. Nobody even breathed when he was taming the lions.

This looks so dissapointing. I was optimistic about the return after the intial promos and announcements hinted at a more "circusy" circus. This just looks like every other live Feld show. The opening looks especially lame. No floats, puppets, costumes, anything? Don't you have a warehouse filled with giraffe costumes, giant pinwheels, elaborate bicycles, etc?
To be quite honest, the video is too short for me to make a verdict.
I’m wondering, did they actually have costumes on during these clips?
By the way, I’m actually blind.

If I were you, I think they’ll probably have way more during the live performance.
As a matter of fact, they might have what you’re looking for as far as the extravagant costumes and or circus fanfare.
@@bryanvelazquez249 Funny you said fanfare, because that was the word I was looking for to describe what this is lacking, lol. They do have costumes, looks like the same outfit as they'd wear in their acts.

I miss the symbol crashes and the well-timed accents that match the action. The trapeze catch after the triple flip deserves a crash from the live band.
They should have people dressed up in animal costumes, like how the lion king has, for example the elephants, tigers and lions

The Greatest Show On Earth wouid have imagined and created animatronic animals to recreate those iconic acts but this is most definitely not the greatest show on earth anymore.
It looks horrible, sad to say. It's quite a step down from RBBB's long-running Vegas-style glitzy show that happened to have circus acts. I worked as a performer for many years under Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros' canvas, the real deal. I know and lived circus. RBBB looks like a very sterile "show" now, if you can even call it that. How embarrassing. RBBB was the first circus I ever saw, Madison Sq. Garden, circa 1964-5. I remember most the curious people in the sideshow downstairs before the circus show. I later sat in the nosebleed seats in the Garden with my great aunt as she tipped her flask of vodka into her coke. She bought me a set of plastic lens binoculars to watch the circus acts. The whole rememberance is curiously in black and white, save for the toy binoculars, they were red. Decades later, I would buy my first book of black and white photos. It was Diane Arbus' book with the twin girls on the front. The book is all odd people. In the book, there is a photo titled " 'A Jewish giant at home with his parents in the Bronx, N.Y". I distinctly remember him in the sideshow I saw with my great aunt. I last saw RBBB at the Garden and in Boston in the 1980s. Human acts rule. RBBB is crazy to have a robot dog, that's so, so tacky. Feld Entertainment needs a lot of help if they think this show is going to sell.
It is like watching a canned theme park show. The LIVE band and a ringmaster help the give the show a more personal touch that an audience can identify with. Two hosts spit the attention. Don't know who to look at or focus on.
Agreed. This show looks doomed already, super tacky and bland. This is anything but circus. No class here.
Went yesterday and it sucked. Never knew where to look. Robotic dog! Clowns weren’t funny and all the singing and dancing was so corny. They were just filling time with crap because now they have no show without animals
That's what it's about. The creators os the show said they want to adapt to all audiences, especially the younger ones and teens that use TikTok. Every 3.5 seconds the show changes in light, music, performance of visuals to keep interest high during the entire show. It's an interesting concept
The number problem with this new show is that it should actually be in a tent not an arena. A Big Top will do it justice. The robot 🤖 dog will only bring back the memories of the animals, another thing I would not do. Anyway, good luck Ringing on your re-launch
It feels like a copout to say there's "no ringmaster." You have a person, in a shiny colorful costume, presenting acts, and singing over damn near everything; THAT IS YOUR RINGMASTER! XD I mean, if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck.. Oi.. e_e
Even the "no clowns" thing is kinda meh, since you very clearly have a group of people in weird pinstripes, acting *very* clowny, and doing clowny things, but oh no, those are certainly not clowns; certainly not... Like, sure, if you say so, buddy e_e NOT! XD
Still.. Without a top hat, and red noses, The Greatest Show On Earth really doesn't feel like a circus anymore.. :(

Where are the Clowns? It's awesome to see the Performers but it's not the Circus without the Animals or Clowns. Thats just my Opinion, I've been to at least 8 or 9 in my life and always Animals and Clown, My First Show was at the Elephant Theater in S.F

Animals should not be used in circuses animals such as lions, tigers and elephants are not performers so they should be forced to perform in a circus I’m glad Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus have decided to go animal free it is the right thing to do
@@59771006well ekephants do tricks too much Dumbo even could do better you know one of the animated elephants in the Ringling Bos circus looked like Dumbo from the Disney movie more like making a Dumbo show for Disney with Puppets.
Clowns are outdated. They replaced them with live actors dressed "less scarily"

It’s definitely different from what I remember growing up.
I remember seeing the circus at Madison Square Garden for my birthday. The one addition that really sticks out to me is the 133rd edition.
I I would like to find a video of the 133rd edition performance in its entirety. I also would like to get my hands on the 126th edition for some very odd reason. I kind of remember vaguely attending that performance at the garden as well.

Ringling bros
The American Circus is officially dead. The intro doesn't mention the word circus. The outro doesn't state: "May all your days be circus days." No ringmaster. No clowns. No pageantry. No National Anthem. No pennants or programs were sold when I attended. Its lame and it costs hundreds of dollars. Ray Bradbury's childhood dreams are gone and his Mr. Electrico has been murdered.

The show looks really, really sad, bland, certainly not circus.
I’d love to see some circuses use animals for some story-based circus shows, but in a grand-scale theatrical way with animals projected on screens and performers in animal costumes!

Not what it usto to be ... I was going to take my 7 year old to experience what i experienced when i went at his age. All i see is dissapointment .. Really no clowns...lamest show on earth.... Woke culture ruined everything.
