You really know what youre talking about, appreciate your enthusiastic approach and how you slowly break down why things are done a certain way. Thanks for this lesson, regards future chemical engineer.
Amazing presentation.i always get confused between the area under the curve and area bound by the curve. Thank you for clarifying this in your other video.
Hi Eddie, you are fantastic! especially here, you pointed out some of the common mistakes or blunders students do comment often -I for instance a victim; misapplication of concepts. instead of integration, we set off to doing differentiation.
Thank you very much professor I hope one day to be just like you ✌😁 And thanks again for all the education and help you do for us You know, you do a great job, keep calm and teach the world ✌😁
straightforward solution for 1:16 Formulae : ∫ ln x dx = x log x - x + c proof: integrating by parts ∫ 1. log x dx II I ∫ log x dx = log x ∫ 1 dx - ∫ [ d/dx (log x) ∫ 1 dx ] dx = log x(x) - ∫ (1/x) * x dx = x log x - ∫ 1 dx = x log x - x + C substitue the formulae
Determine all pairs (a,b) of +ve integers, such that ab2+b+7 completely divides a2b+a+b. Here a2 means a squared. My teacher doesn't seem to get it, any ideas anyone? I know this isn't integration but please help..it's from INMO

Again, this is derived in extension 2 mathematics rather than mathematics advanced. you may find it easy but not these students who just are starting calculus. Not everyone finds maths easy.
at 1:36 he explains why these students SHOULD NOT know that formula. it comes from integration by parts which is only taught in mathematics extension 2.
i love the way you are so enthusiastic for all the probles no matter how easy is it...
I was just about to start studying about areas by integration for my entrance exam and i just got this in my notifications!!
Thank you!!!

Great connection you make from the previous video! Cool!!
Logarithmic functions always stumped me in school. This was fun to watch.
We can also integrate by parts ln(x), and it will give us x(lnx-1), and then evaluate it.
That will be much easier an simple.
Thank you so much you’re helping students all over the world

straightforward solution for 1:16
Formulae : ∫ ln x dx = x log x - x + c
proof:
integrating by parts ∫ 1. log x dx
II I
∫ log x dx
= log x ∫ 1 dx - ∫ [ d/dx (log x) ∫ 1 dx ] dx
= log x(x) - ∫ (1/x) * x dx
= x log x - ∫ 1 dx
= x log x - x + C
substitue the formulae
Switching to inverse ( y = e^x) works too. Area = 3In3 - Integral, from In3 to 0, of e^x .
Excellent example!
Thanks Eddie Woo
You really made me understand... you break it down so well, thank you so much😁😁
Good job man I like that notability and webcam setup but I suggest work more on the adjustments you can do it better!
I used to think Aus Maths at high school are easier than China's. As it turns out, it is not!
Aus has been catching up on Maths teaching, well done!
mr.woo i have a doubt .
i guess the answer should be 2-3ln3 cause 3ln3-2 is negative
please correct me if im wrong
Love from Bangladesh
I really want to know the other way around. The tough way. Trying to solve with the lnx. Can you please put out a video on that?
Use integration by parts and you'll get the same answer :)
the integral of logx is xlogx - x
now u can directly work on it
ps:- u can find the integral of logx by using integration by parts.
I love watching your tv show
love from india🇮🇳🇮🇳☺😊😍
Nice explanation ❤
The integral of lnx is xlnx-x
Mr. Woo, how do I make such a nice video?
Hi teacher, What program did you use for writing?
He’s using Notability on an iPad 🙂. I’ve been using it for a couple of months and it works really well 👍
Or you can use UV integration formula taking lnx and 1. You will get I=x(lnx)-x+c
It isn’t related to the topic but do you use iPad ?
Thank you
since both lengths of rectangle are the same can i just use 3 as a length and not ln3 ?
Why didn't you solve this through integration by parts?is it a way to reach the answer
wait, so the integral of e^y is also e^y ? o.o
Thanks 👍
Beautiful. Fucking beautiful.
Can you come and teach year 12 advanced maths at my school at the start of term 4 because your 12 class will be doing the HSC. I beg?!
Hey what's the syllabus in term 4

Am, professor what about the integration by part
We can find the primitive of lnx by use this method 🤔
Yes, and it will be more easier, but knowing how to do it by his way would help for more complicated problems
Does xlogx - x do not really obey
Mr. Eddie, which technology are you using for digital writing?
haftyguy He’s using Notability on an iPad 😀
Buen ejemplo
Which software you are using to digital whiteboard
anandupes He’s using Notability on an iPad 🙂
Area is 1.27
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤
using integration by parts gives u the same answer
I'm studying linguistics why do I even see these vids xD
what the kind of tablet and program that you ues

Please some one tell me the App he is using to write. TIA
Notability on apps store
Why not primitive of ln x is x ln ( x ) - x
i think, because more efficient when you just differentiate it
It is, but this is only taught in the mathematics extension 2 course. This is the mathematics advanced course.
I learnt in high school that the integral of lnx = xlnx-x
Hello Eddie woooooo
Who is Eddy woo
Who is Eddy wool
I think its a mistake ..
how are you so based
Grrr it's [xln(x)-x]1→3 and then (3*ln(3)/2 )- [xln(x)-x]1→3 ez xD
Again, this is derived in extension 2 mathematics rather than mathematics advanced.
you may find it easy but not these students who just are starting calculus. Not everyone finds maths easy.
X.ln(x) _ x
x ln ( x ) - x why not indeed.
at 1:36 he explains why these students SHOULD NOT know that formula.
it comes from integration by parts which is only taught in mathematics extension 2.
