This sin is unforgivable!
The Worst Hidden Fault
What do you think is the worst thing a person can hide within himself? This is the only sin that is unforgivable. God really dislikes this, very much. There is a feature, which hides deep inside a person’s heart. A person must search for it to find and eliminate it. If it hides, a person cannot find it that easily. It is being suspicious about God.
In the Chapter Victory, God says, “So that He would punish both male and female hypocrites and pagans.” See which feature is the most important one that the Qur’an says God will punish the hypocrites because of it, “…who have evil suspicions about God.” We may think this is very simple. “God, they don’t trust You.” “Why don’t they trust Me?! Why are they suspicious about My kindness?! Why are they suspicious about My beneficence and My promises?! Why are they like this?!” In such cases, we say, “May God curse them,” or “Death to them!” In the same way, God says, “Are they suspicious about Me? May all these evils come upon them!” “It is they who are surrounded by evil and have become subject to the wrath and condemnation of God. He has prepared for them hell, a terrible place to live.” [Qur’an 48:6]
Why? They are suspicious about God. God says, “Are they suspicious about Me? Don’t they understand what being suspicious means?” Very interesting. He’s very strict. If a believer is suspicious about God, God will probably say the same thing to him too. God will ask, “Why are you suspicious?! Don’t you believe in Me?!” He becomes upset and angry. Don’t neglect this; be optimistic about God.
God asked the Prophet David, “Do you want to see who is at your level in Heaven from among ordinary people?” He replied, “Yes.” It was interesting for him. He was a prophet. Prophets put more effort and have more knowledge. They worship more and struggle more. A prophet is humble, but he liked to know who was at his level. Without being a prophet, that person had such a status.
God said, “The daughter of ‘such and such’ family.” The prophet said, “I have to go and talk to her.” Knock, knock. “I’m David.” “Come in please.” “I want to talk with your daughter.” He asked the woman, “What are your good deeds?” He saw they were normal deeds. She prayed for example, as we would say.
The prophet said, “No, it’s not these. Tell me about your moods.” She talked and talked and talked. He saw it was all normal. Suddenly she said, “I’m very optimistic about God.” He asked, “What are the signs of this?” “Any problem that comes up I say, ‘God is definitely being kind to me, because He loves me. He won’t abandon me. There is something good in this.’” Prophet David said, “It’s enough. Your optimism has caused you to be at the same level as the prophet of your time.”
Life is a test of your being optimistic. It’s a test of not becoming suspicious. God gets very angry when a person is suspicious about Him! You should trust God from the depths of your heart.
