  • Gun violence, from mass shooting events to suicides, has left its terrible mark on much of this country. But this public health crisis has been understudied, thanks to limitations regarding research into gun ownership using federal funds. Now, Maurizio Porfiri, Institute Professor at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and Director of the Center for Urban Science + Progress, is one of the first researchers to study the underlying causes of gun violence, from his perspective as a data scientist. Hear about his findings in this episode of Office Hours.
