Chris Lilley you are a gem. I am a very big fan of Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David and I have to say next to them you have to be my second favourite comedian. Thanks for making me laugh. The world would be a very sad place without laughter.😂😎
As another kid in Australia..I grew up with all the same shows Chris mentioned..the Goodies..,George and Mildred.,Love thy Neighbour and also Are you being served?..Fawlty Towers..etc etc..we loved those shows as kids!
He seems like a pretty cool guy and he’s really talented as a performer and writer. A few of his past characters were problematic (S.Mouse for example) but the nuances in those performances added more depth to them. Besides, numerous other actors have done that whole black/brown/yellow face thing in the past and those performances were not nearly as nuanced or controlled (just watch Little Britain or Come Fly With Me). Mr G is easily his best character (although Ja’mie is a close second) and Summer Heights High is a classic comedy series. I’m interested to see what he does next.
Francesca Baines “problematic” (side note: that word means nothing outside of academia) if you don’t understand who the butt of the jokes are and where the pathos comes from, ie how real his characters are. I understand you like his humour but it doesn’t need justification
Francesca Baines He's been filming a new Netflix series. He created a new character I think... but I believe he's playing several again. 10 episodes so far. Cant wait for its release! I wanna see Mr G again and Jonah! They're hilarious! Mr. G especially haha
