What you need is a new control board. I just repaired mine and it behaved exactly like yours. Changed out the actuator, the lid lock assembly, even the capacitor. All three didnt fix it. Finally changed the control board, now everything works like new. I read in the last comment thread you got rid of it but for anyone reading this and has the same issue, change the control board and dont waste your time on codes or thinking its lidlock.

So aside all the comments on here is there a solution for this exact problem? I mean without having to do major surgery and organ transplant

Mine was having the same issues today. I was able to fix it by using a couple of Q tips with some soap and water to clean out the lock area where the white lock part goes into black hole. It’s located on the front right area with the lid open. I cleaned it from the top and the bottom by reaching my hand underneath and works now.

I have the same exact problem right now. This machine was a piece of shit from the day I got it. Takes forever to start up after sensing “water” for what seems like forever. How much does water costs that we need to sense it for an hour before every wash? Seems to me that it’s wasting more electricity than any other washer.
Looking for a solution to this problem. If I can’t find one, Although I’ve had this machine for 3 years, I will load it on top of my car and drive down to the place where I bought it, along with a big sign that says whirlpool products suck. Let’s see what they do for me.

Joe Fischetti I agree. I buy LG instead because their top loaders are better than these whirlpools

I’m only watching this because I am looking for the way to read the fault code and repair it. Not sure what value this video offers.

Read the description. I was looking for answers also. I scrapped it. I found out how to diagnose the problem and it showed 4 different error codes. There was something wrong with the board that costs more than it's worth to fix. Sorry I couldn't provide any useful information to your issue sir. G'day

I am having the same issue..... I think..... we have to keep getting up and hitting the start switch seems like every cycle..... I did find one secret tho to kinda help..... on the left top corner , take a toothbrush ( handle end) and pry up the triangle. If you have someone who has small hands..... if you reach down..... there is a pamphlet taped on the inside.... take it out and it shows you how to run a diagnostic test... it’s pretty simple...... it’s full of error codes and fix its. A simple read if you take your time. It’s out there for techs to come out after you paid boo coo bucks ..... try this before scrapping it or calling a repair guy! Hope I’ve helped someone. Merry Christmas to all and to all...... headache free washing!!!!

These whirlpool Cabrio’s are pieces of shit. It lasted two years and the spin cycle stopped working and the lock is doing the same thing as this video.
