They very rarely play anything older than BSSM live these days. Shame cause Mother's Milk is my favorite RHCP album. I know Frusciante dislikes the guitar work on it yet that album is by far their most rocking record.
And on a CBS (big headstock )start too... I actually love those strats though personally! And yep there is lots of info online agreeing this guitar was used on MM

Flea was doing handstands in the hallway before they went on. I didn't know who they were at that point but thankfully was in the studio about 15ft away from them behind one of the cameras and been a fan ever since! So glad John is back and praying they bust out some tunes from mother's milk on the 2022 tour 🤞🙏🥳🎶💯💫🤸

There was about 75 people in the audience and I was right behind one of the cameras. Pretty crazy seeing them go from there to Roseland ballroom with Smashing pumpkins and Pearl Jam opening to Lollapalooza etc and now headlining stadiums.

I’ve seen them go from playing college gyms to arenas. Next year, I’ll see them in a stadium here in Philly. Amazing to see them when they were nobodies and watch them go from gyms to ballrooms to 1500 seaters to arenas to stadiums. If you had told me in 1989 that they’d soon be one of the biggest bands in the world, I would have laughed at you.

I never expected them to get this big either. I'm happy for them cause they worked hard to get there and it's just amazing so many people love them nowadays. But I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd way rather see them in the theaters or even an arena over a stadium any day. It'll be fun though no matter what.

Honestly crazy how much better Anthony's vocals are here compared to recordings from just 2-3 years prior. I *love* the musicianship of early-mid-80s RHCP, but some recordings from those days I personally find Anthony to be near unlistenable. Not so here
