Oh man this brings back great memories! I was an intern on Late Night with David Sanborn when they came and played during the Mother's milk tour. Flea was doing handstands in the hallway before they went on. I didn't know who they were at that point but thankfully was in the studio about 15ft away from them behind one of the cameras and been a fan ever since! So glad John is back and praying they bust out some tunes from mother's milk on the 2022 tour 🤞🙏🥳🎶💯💫🤸
@@rightchordleadership I gotta go back and watch it. It's been awhile since I've seen it. That studio was tiny...it was a blast being introduced to them that way. There was about 75 people in the audience and I was right behind one of the cameras. Pretty crazy seeing them go from there to Roseland ballroom with Smashing pumpkins and Pearl Jam opening to Lollapalooza etc and now headlining stadiums.
@@mbass718 Yes indeed. I saw them at that Roseland show after first seeing them at Rutgers University. I skipped Pearl Jam because I had no idea who they were. I’ve seen them go from playing college gyms to arenas. Next year, I’ll see them in a stadium here in Philly. Amazing to see them when they were nobodies and watch them go from gyms to ballrooms to 1500 seaters to arenas to stadiums. If you had told me in 1989 that they’d soon be one of the biggest bands in the world, I would have laughed at you.
@@rightchordleadership That's awesome! That must have been wild seeing them at Rutgers. Funny enough I actually had seen Pearl Jam before that at a club gig here in NY for one of those music industry shows ..it wasn't Namm but something like that and the club gig was empty. It was right before Ten came out and I thought they were goofy AF and still wasn't really into them at the Roseland show. That might have been the only time I thought Smashing pumpkins was any good personally. But at that point I was big into the Chili peppers, Fishbone, Jane's addiction etc so I preferred some funk and groove in my music. I really wish the RHCP were playing MSG rather than the stadium but I have decent seats so it should be cool. I wanted to go to the MSG show about 2 years ago but all the nights were sold out and tickets were way too much but I got MetLife stadium in the pre sale. I wish it was Yankee stadium instead cause it's a pain to get to without a car but it'll be a party for sure. And Thundercat opening is gonna be kick ass.
