As a 16 yr old I played this song over and over on my Sony Walkman to learn the words.. I'm now 44 and I still lip sync to this at party's in front of friends.. They are mesmerised when they see me do it, I know every word. Love it!!!
0:20 - Madonna was really crying in pain because Pacino went too far. He slapped her hard in that scene. She said after the movie wrapped, he apologized if she felt he had gone too far with several scenes. She said she did have fun doing the movie with him and he ad-libbed a few scenes where Mahoney and Big Boy argued over how she should do her dance routine. In fact, she said she was struggling to not laugh because Pacino forgot his lines and ad-libbed his way through the scene. Apparently Warren Beatty liked the outcome and kept it that way.
You know this movie is really her story, not Dick Tracy’s. She wants more out of life and is tired of being an object passed from one mob boss to another. But the only way out is to expose Big Boy and frame him. But things get complicated when she falls for the upstanding detective investigating her.

I've loved this song since I first saw this movie in theaters years ago, but I only recently discovered that this song quotes George Gershwin's "I've Got Rhythm" four times (thrice verbally and once musically): 0:09, 0:28, 1:58 and 3:30 (listen to the horns). The musical quote comes through more clearly on the karaoke version of this track.
Also quotes Gershwin’s “Plenty of Nothing” from Porgy and Bess, and the bridge section (“One is fun…”) is a play on Gershwin’s “Fascinatin Rhythm”. Makes me wonder how many other quotes might in the song altogether!
This movie is great and i love the musi c I'm breathless is a very good album and it's not easy to sing Stephen Sondheim song's but Madonna does it perfectly
This movie is a masterpiece. Music and Madonna and the fantastic story

Madonna was an excellent actress when given a proper role. Love this Stephen Sondheim song. The entire score deserves more respect.

Amazing!! Thank You!
I love the way Al Pacino dances at the end of the song! He is so funny 😂
The jealous critics denied her too hastily Madonna should have got an Oscar.
Madonna can sing anything.
Dick Tracy was such a great movie!
Tommy Gets Stupid it’s amazing

Totally Agree with you... Need to remaster and release on Blu-ray
Fantastic work! Thanks!
La mejor de todas la reina del pop 👸🏼
She wanted to perform this song instead of Sooner or Later. at the Oscars
FRANKLY SPEAKING N Y FSNYtv this wasnt the nominated song tho
She said she wanted "More" OR "Sooner or Later"
Love her singing
I would have gone straight for Madonna!!😍😍😍😍😍
Al Pacino is so good in that scene where he harangues and harasses Madonna during the rehearsal.
NO!!! It’s W R O N G !!!!
@@ladyboywonder9139 MOAR, MOAR, MOAR, MOAR, MOAR!
I love this
Getting the starring female role for a Disney movie after the LAP controversy and the Blond Ambition Tour... That's the power of Madonna.
also doesnt hurt that youre banging the director at the same time 😉
This is a touchstone movie

Sarai per sempre Marco la mia Jessica Rabbit
no NO! It’s wrong it’s off ITS WRONG! it doesn’t work! It’s not good!
With apologies to Madonna - this seems like the best theme song for the current administration (just without the angst that comes with having a clue).
Diana Melville-Lyon they make me think of the “let the good times roll” scene
Man hard to belive that used to be Madonna. Now she looks like Bruce Campbell in a drag.
She handled the music well but her face is just so inert as an actress. She's a blank dud on screen.
Wish Warren had used her in other roles. He truly got her looking stunning
Rest in Peace Stephen Sondheim!
❤
