Why is ortho molecular so high in sugar?

Hey Darryl! Excellent question.
Candidly, it's a tough balance. The Glutashield for example has almost no sugar, while the Inflammacore has 8g of added sugar. Being concerned with added sugars myself, I personally don't mind the taste of the no sugar products. But, we occasionally do get complaints that those products are more difficult to take unless mixed in smoothie (as opposed to just water) due to taste. Inflammacore in particular has some very bitter ingredients that are tough to mask without some type of sweetener. You can read more about it via that link. As far as added sweeteners go, it's relatively clean and a solid source in my opinion. Of course, per your point, no added sugar would be ideal!
But, if a relatively lower amount of a "cleaner" added sugar helps with taking the product to get the benefits, then that is a trade-off I think is worth considering. We don't make the Ortho Molecular products ourselves, but are big believers in them and I've personally used the Inflammacore myself.
