Ok the description of the Stephen king book made me have to google it. It’s called “the girl who loved Tom Gordon” and it’s about a girl lost in the woods who starts to hallucinate and get sick. She comes across a bear who she thinks is a god of the lost in disguise coming to take her. Classic Maine stuff

Same about not knowing about villager hunting until I started watching UA-cam videos about it. I was used to getting whoever and that was that. I think I used the one NMT from Tom Nook, took the first villager and auto filled the rest.

OMG as soon as you started describing the Stephen King book you've read I gasped. I've never heard anyone else talk about The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, it's the only book of his that I have read over and over! you definitely didn't make up that book in your mind haha it's real and a great read
some parts of the book I distinctly remember off the top of my head: she rolls down a rocky hillside and into a tree where there's a wasp nest and has to run away from it and cover her stings with mud. she rations her soft drink (Fanta, maybe? smth like that) as well as the battery life on her walkman so she can tune into baseball radio to help her sleep. there's a part where she goes through a swamp packed with thin vertical trees and that was so descriptive it creeped me out. such a good book
I REMEMBER THIS!!! I read it back during my phase as a child where I refused to read books about boys, I would ONLY read books about girls and I somehow found myself reading it
