My fucking god the games popcap made before they were bought by EA is half my childhood. I still wanna know how to get the games like chuzzles, bookworm, bejewelled twist and insaniquarium. I played PvZ alongside those games as a kid as well, hiding under the table everytime I lost because of the scream and the writing that came up on the screen.
They are on Steam with the exception of Bookworm Adventures 1 & 2 (withdrawn by PoGo). There’s also an amazing Chuzzle sequel made by Raptisoft for iOS and Android (and a spin-off but we don’t talk about that)
Oh my god, yes!!!! Bejeweled Twist soundtrack is just too good, VERY underrated (and very recommended to check out if you need some real banger chill tracks).
The first Bejeweled's Timed Mode theme is also amazing! All PopCap games ang GameHouse games music is amasing! You should try the first Bejeweled's Timed Mode theme, Insaniquarium's alien attack theme, and most of the soundtrack from Big Money, Astro Pop, Heavy Weapon, and Dynomite!
If no one else is gonna say it, I will. That riff at 0:40? Is anyone else reminded of A Question Of Time by Depeche Mode? Cause as soon as i heard that bit, I got déjà vu!
3 had really fun game modes! but I wasn't a fan of the fantasy aesthetic and soundtrack - I prefer the sci-fi/space aesthetic of 2 and Twist and the soundtrack of 2
I miss this game! The soundtrack is good, so outer space, and introduced that satisfying Replay feature (3 has it too but a bit different). A twist: PopCap collaborated with SquareSoft (Square Enix) to introduce RPG elements using Bejeweled Twist gameplay in Gyromancer. If you like both match-3 and RPG, go play it!
Not to be half off topic, but yoo, I'd wanted to ask if he'd heard the Tetrisphere OST, or see if he'd done any on stream.. Thank you random chatter for asking for me! I dunno this song in specific, or remember specific music from bejeweled, but I do agree with comments about Popcap being legends, and everyone's childhood, lol.. I'd played a bit of Plants vs. Zombies in the past, and also have been just recently!
