I like how Jerma's idea of a normal romantic encounter is inviting someone over at 9pm, cooking them a microwave tv dinner in his pyjamas, standing outside the bathroom door while contemplating whether he should barge in and kiss them while they're on the toilet, then deciding to silently retreat into his gamer goon cave to play fornite for 2 hours while his date swims alone outside in the pool, and then when she finally gets fed up with being ignored and goes to leave he runs out at 1am to try and kiss her, and when that fails all she hears while angrily stomping away is him cheering happily as he cannon balls into the pool.
He invited someone over at 11 in the morning, made her wait 15 minutes while he finished his gaming session, had a fruitless hours long conversation that stretched into a late lunch in which they failed to find any common interests, blamed an unflushed toilet on his mother, failed at conversation again, had a few hours swim during which he was too distracted by an unexplainable urge to pee in his own pool to say anything, rushed inside after her in a deluded rage that she would “steal his bitcoin hash”, forgot why he went in and initiated conversation again, during which they finally made a breakthrough at 7 pm, and then stood there engrossed in discussion about the most banal topics imaginable for 3 and a half hours straight, not even stopping to change out of their swimsuits, until she finally passed out from exhaustion on the floor.
Legend tells they are one of the few surviving "pre-985" jerma's who survived the ruthless campaign of extermination by the emergent post-985 regime. It has been said that they survived by hiding undercover as a subway worker, the low general traffic and low likelihood of detection by the JIA (Jermite Incineration Association) allowing them to survive and prosper well beyond the faux abdication of the old emperor and into the golden age of editorial length.
