Do #Americans know about the "Club World Cup?"
I don't think so, but that's not the problem.
Most of the Americans don't understand what exactly is the "World Champions?"
In general, the Club World Cup exist, because unlike the #ChampionsLeague...
Real Madrid are the "Champions of Europe (Only in Europe)!"
While Manchester City are the "Champions of the World."
This is why the #NBA doesn't recognized their own tournament as the "World Champions", because they're only competing at the NBA and not the national teams.

I mean it makes sense for messi fans to be against this. The main argument against messi is how fifa gifts him trophies like the world cup (and l'equipe with the ballon d'or) them doing this provides a strong case against the favouritism he has recieved from FIFA.

whats fifa doing here is not "messi favoritism" its just that they want money and getting messi means more views and more money and so they waited for inter miami to win something and qualify them as the host team representing the USA

Teams in the first division of Brazil usually have an average of 70 more games per year. There are teams that reach 90 if they play all stages of the competitions. 38 rounds in the national league if the team starts Start but initial stages of the Copa do Brasil where normally the top teams do not play anything in the first 3 or 5 stages, there are teams that enter directly but the round of 16 and then there are the state championships if they are from the northern region.I don't know if it still exists, but the north and central-west regions also had their regional cups, the northeast cup and the green cup for the center and north. There was also one for the regions of the main teams. From Brazil where the southeast and south regions were located but that didn't last long then there are international competitions so what's the problem Real Madrid?

It would have been really funny if Inter Miami lines up Messi and the latter gets injured and sidelined for the rest of the tournament. I mean the inclusion of Messi here and there just to put him up for awards starts to become absurd. People are noticing and there are times I would wish Messi retires or gets injured so bad so that the world can no longer focus on him but give other youngsters time to shine.

Qualifying due to winning supporters shield is comical. Nobody has ever cared about who won that trophy. It's always been the MLS Cup that has mattered. MLS rarely brought up the winner of the trophy... until Miami won it and now it's a huge deal. It's just being used as a way for MLS to market Messi and is just an excuse for FIFA. The fact that MLS lets Miami break rules and then sends them to the CWC when they didn't even win the league is just corruption at it's finest.

Al Jazira (UAE were hosts) got the invite in 2021 for winning the UAE pro league.

5:09 Describing this as "corruption" is a bit of a dense take don't you think?
In previous CWC competitions the host nation always provides an additional team, usually the league winners. In fact, it was announced this would continue into the new format back in 2023, so it was never "unannounced".
Also, as the supporters shield winner effectively is the best team in a traditional league format, it makes sense that FIFA could possibly want to pick a team from there rather than the lottery of the full MLS cup format. The fact that Inter Miami is the team that benefits from this is purely coincidental.
Also you have no proof that Inter Miami's "selection" by FIFA was purely a result of bringing viewers and increasing the value of a TV deal. It is a factor, but there is no concrete link between FIFA's need to meet a 4 Billion TV deal and Inter Miami's qualification, so how could you accuse them of corruption in this case?
If FIFA really are corrupt enough to put revenue over sporting integrity as much as you said, why aren't FIFA lobbying for Al Nassr, Barca or Liverpool to qualify, those teams would provide much more eyes to the competition than RB Salzburg or Porto.
Ik FIFA are corrupt but didn't think you would need to stoop as low as spreading misinformation for engagement, it's just disappointing and a waste of time.

You made a lot mistakes in your comment, Inter miami have not won the MLS cup (which is the league cup objectively and even if you used the supporters shield as a metric, which doesn't make sense, it doesnt matter regardless as the qualification started in 2023, which it would go to FC cinncinati). Also you might be the dense one, if you think barca or liverpool have as much pull as inter miami. Messi alone on instagram has almost 5 times the followers of barca, liverpool and al nassr combined. People want to see messi and his last dance against top level clubs, a player like messi has more pull than clubs. Also funny how you contradicted yourself saying fifa isn't corrupt enough to this but you then immediately stated they are corrupt. We all know inter miami only entered the competition because messi and the revenue he generates. I mean when messi joined the stadium attendance DOUBLED. That's the amount of influence he has.

Idk, I have always wanted a true Club World Cup. And I think its great, even though this one will be strange. About the match amount, its at most 7 extra matches for 2 teams every 4 years. I’d remove stuff such as the Carabao Cup, the state championships in Brazil, go back to previous Champions League format, etc. to reduce matches. Or have somethin such as “those qualified will directly pass continental cup group stages (such as Champions League and Libertadores)”.
Idk, sad to see people hating on it, I get it, but its something Ive been waiting since forever, specially as I profoundly disagree with the value people give to the current “Club World Cup”, which is just a glorified supercup.

The only people who don't want this tornament to happen are the europeans. Football fans from all the other continents would really enjoy having their teams face european opposition. It would also benefit them in the long run, providing money for these clubs and leagues to better themselves for the next cycles.
And if you are an european who really dislikes this torunament, imagine having the UCL without south american, african and asian players in your squads and see if it would be entretaining. The fact of the matter is that europe has benefited from having too much money and buying all the worlds top players in the last 30 years. No wonder our sides have weakened, when you're hogging all our best players.
Just a reminder that Brazilian players are top scorers in the Champions League in the 21st century, when you sort all goals by nationality. And Argentinian players are top 5.

  • @NIDELLANEUM

I bet FIFA might end up regretting that they didn't make this an invitational tournament, or that at list they had different criteria for qualification.
    - Barcelona not being there might make them lose lots of viewers (especially with how good Barça is this year)
    - Even though they do have a good talent in Cole Palmer, I bet they hoped to see a better English team than current Chelsea (and they probably hope that at least Manchester City is back on track)
    - Two of the big three teams from Portgual will be there (Porto and Benfica) right as the _other_ one (Sporting CP) is one of the hottest teams of the season
    - Messi's team did let them make sure that he can be there, but Ronaldo's team couldn't. Bet they would have bent the rules a lot to justify Al Nassr, but there was simply nothing they could use
    - Speaking of Arab teams, lots of World Class players are in the Saudi Pro League and only one of them will participate
    - Having *all* the South American representatives being either Argentinian or Brazilian means that many South Americans might end up not watching it
    - While they did want to avoid having too many teams from one nation, the fact that UEFA's ranking made *Red Bull Salzburg* one of the European teams means that they'll have a team struggling in Europe to be there
I obviously didn't want to offend those teams' supporters, but I do believe that FIFA would have loved to see things go in a different way

I'm sorry, but this is just EU ego. Everybody in south america, middle east and asia are very excited about the tournament. Why is it FIFA's fault for the amount of games when FIFA tournaments represents only 1~2% of the matches? This is ridiculous.

This Tournament Will Be A Failure. It Doesn't Matter Who Wins. Also As Much As People Can Disagree With This UEFA Hold The Power When It Comes To Marketing, Promotion Etc. If The European Teams Don't Bring Their Big Stars This Tournament Is Dead In The Water

They'd only care about the club world cup if they could ever lose to a club outside of europe. After all the Champions League wouldn't be the best championship in the world if they can't beat the south american or asian champion

Your points are dumb. Firstly, blame uefa and company for the crazy playing schedule. Secondly, the tournament happens every four years, and if I'm not mistaken, each confederation decides how their quota gets filled, not fifa. Thirdly, why should fifa not want the biggest club tournament to be international one? It's makes sense. Screw uefa if they think they are above, and for disingenuous claiming "too many games" as the issue. I'm all for this global spectacle, everyone outside uefa gonna love it, so uefa and you can shut it.
