We are all grieving our loss of Johnny! But ya know what? It makes me smile......just think! He came up in the 50s, when the world was a lot more innocent, especially about kids, television was still pretty new, and programs like the Mickey Mouse club encouraged kids to develop and share their TALENTS! Rifleman came along in our American Western appreciation era, and Johnny grew along with Indian Paint and some great, mellow, and -Innocent - songs!! I haven't even mentioned his love of horses and Rodeo participation as a young man!! I get excited just thinking about it! Then pulling Swing era music out of retirement and making a smashing success out of that!!! Wow!! Music really changed, and culturally, so have we. But it seems that God navigated Johnny through many perilous times and trends, and yet he is respected, admired, and loved as much as he always was, and really only 75 years of age! Many, many people live much longer. I think Johnny accomplished a lot in his given years....most folks would have to make it to 90 to do all Johnny has done!! My condolences to Charlotte, a very special woman, and to Bobby thru this time of passage. May the memories sustain you! We, Johnny's fans, will be praying for you and loving you always!
If you guys look at other videos on UA-cam of Johnny, you will see he carried his sense of morality and kindness with him throughout life. Thank you for posting this. It brought (bitter/sweet) tears to my eyes. RIP Johnny.
I love this,I have never seen this. Thank you! I grew up with Johnny Crawford & Chuck Conners of the Rifleman. I may have never met Johnny but I know in my heart that he would have been a loving brother & friend to have for anyone. God Bless you Johnny, another angel in the heavens. God love & bless his wife and brother Bobby and all that knew him.
I always enjoyed his performances, I must have missed him on this episode, as someone who fences, I like him even more now. RIP, sir. Thank you for loads of wholesome entertainment.
Sadly - Actor, singer, musician, and bandleader Johnny Crawford passed away on April 29th, 2021. He was seventy-five years old... He was best known for playing Mark McCain on the ABC-TV weekly western era series 'The Rifleman', it aired from 1958 to 1963 and he appeared in all 168 episodes... At the age of 13, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for 'Best Supporting Actor' for his work on the show... In 1955 he was one of the original Mouseketeers on Walt Disney's 'Mickey Mouse Club', he was cut after its first season due to a reduction in the size of the cast... Between 1961 and 1964 the Los Angeles, California native had eight records on Billboard's Top 100 chart, one made the Top 10, "Cindy's* Birthday", it peaked at #8 {for 2 weeks} in June of 1962 and spent thirteen weeks on the Top 100... He had two Top 20 records, "Your Nose Is Gonna Grow" at #14 for one week in August of 1962 and "Rumors" at #12 for one week in December of 1962... In the 1990s he was the leader of 'The Johnny Crawford Band'... May he R.I.P. * In 1963 he released a Cindy sequel titled "Cindy's Gonna Cry", it reached #72 and stayed on the Top 100 for seven weeks...

Walt Disney made a big mistake when he dumped you from the show Johnny....but it all worked our great in the end, because you went on to become Mark McCain!
That is an awful lot of affirmation that I thought people were sick of. Alas, we are back with an awful lot of affirmation, yet for children with no talent, skills, nor self control.

Wholesome fun. This show broke new ground in many ways.
